"What?" I sputtered, my eyes widening. My feet fell from their position, and I leaned forward in surprise. "He's coming back?"

"Yes. He has decided to complete senior year in his hometown so he can take care of his mother," Mr. T informed me.

"But he should have graduated by now," I protested, still unable to believe that Leon was coming back to school. My school.

"In the year he was away, he wasn't receiving the necessary schooling," Mr. T explained, his eyes simmering with regret and worry.

"Where was he?" I demanded, both confusion and hysteria awakening in me.

"I'm not at liberty to say. Whatever information you would like to know, you must ask him yourself," Mr. T sighed, folding his hands on top of his wooden desk. "Now, we must discuss your behavior in Mr. Kangora's class."

"He's an uptight ass who needs to learn how to loosen up more," I retorted, anger flashing through my eyes.

"Okay," Mr. T chuckled, "but he's still expecting you to receive detention."

"It's at three right?" I verified.

"Yes, that hasn't changed," Mr. T nodded.

"I'll see if I'm free."
