Jack's POV
It was super late and I was sitting on my bed watching another cat video. How does this happen?
I look over to my bedside table realizing how late it was. The clock's red light shone the time 10:48pm. Where is Mark? He said he'd be back around 9:45. Was he ok?
My condition had started to turn worse after the first couple of weeks here. Not as bad as it used to be though. My mother keeps trying to call but I never seem to be able to answer her. I was angry with her. No, furious. This school is changing me in ways I never thought possible since Ireland.
I need to get my mind off of this for the life of me.
The other day a strange guy walked up to me in the middle of class. He didn't say his name but I didn't really care about that so much. He told me to go to room 168B, a couple of hallways away from my dorm. His face had looked like he had no idea what he was doing. Like he'd been up with ghosts ad demons. Like I had looked in Ireland.
I returned to my phone, looking at all the new stuff posted on twitter and shows that were uploaded on to Netflix. More walking dead stuff and my friends back home were at a massive party along the rocky shore. It was weird though, it was the middle of winter there and snow had covered the ground where their bare feet stood.
I remembered all the parties I had went to. I remembered how much I didn't care about who or what I was messing with. I had been with so many girls and had done almost all of every kind of drug. I knew my mum knew. It didn't take long for me to get in trouble for skipping school. I remember the one time me and my friend got arrested for breaking into a store. I was such a little shit when I lived there. I was glad I had a friend like Mark to keep me on the tracks. Where was he?
I heard sudden screams coming from own the hall. I grabbed a jacket and ran for the screaming, which had died down and all I could hear was the noise of someone breathing heavy.
I turned a corner to see Mark. He was lying on the ground, Unconscious but breathing. Coffee had been spilled all over him. A flash of black caught my eye as it darted down the hallway.
"Hey! Stop!" The figure had disappeared from view and was too far gone to be caught up to. I pulled out my phone and dialed 9-1-1.
An ambulance had soon arrived to pick him up and bring him to the hospital. The sirens that lurked from far had made me think of my life not to long ago once more as I realized my stabilizer had been taken from me.
What was I going to do now?
