Mark's POV

Classes were finally over for the day and I was glad. I could go back to my dorm, well our dorm and jam out for a while. I was working on a new song for an audition in choir.

That class was Ok but it never really felt fair. Ryan WS the class favorite and teacher's pet. Mrs. Kate only paid any attention to him. Yes, he has a good voice, but there's nothing that special about him. I was the one who could hit the really low notes.

I was wandering slowly  back to my dorm. Taking in the rays of the sun. It was bright until 7:00pm when the sun set beautifully. I loved nature and music and I were honest to myself, I'm straight out of a Disney princess movie.

I strolled by other dorms, reading the numbers as I went along. 169b, 168b, 167b. The hall around here had a lingering smell of weed and cocaine. I'll admit I tried weed once. It was with Felix. He had shown me the joint hidden in his bathroom and we sat there and smoked. I would never do that ever again.

I finally got to my dorm, 147b, opening the door to see Jack sprawled out on his bed watching something on his laptop. He looked up at e and took out one of his earphones.
"Hey Mark." His Irish accent changing my name a bit.
"Hi Jack. What'cha watchin'?" I asked.
"Attack on Titan. You wanna watch?" A big smile on his face.
I shook my head no. "I'm working on something for choir." His smile faded a bit but returned almost instantly.

I sat down on my bed and grabbed the sheets of music from my book bag, looking at them perplexed. I started working on the song, humming to see if it sounded good. I didn't notice he was staring at me until he spoke up.
"Wow, that sounds super cool." I blushed a bit.
"Thanks." I returned to my work, every once in a while glancing up at him.

Knock, knock.
"Who is it?" I replied.
"It's Arin."
"Come on in."
He had a huge smile on his face and a girl wrapped around his neck.
"I'm throwing a little party tomorrow night and I wanted to know if you were coming."
"Sure dude." I turned my head to look at Jack.
"Ok, guess we're going." Arin smiled.
"Great see you there." He turned and walked back to his dorm. The girl following him like a dog.

I looked at Jack, confused.
"I thought you liked being left alone?"
"Nah I love me a pint or two on occasion." His accent really breaking that sentence.
"So that offer about Attack on Titan?"
"Yeah?"
"I'll join you." A big grin on his face.

I crawled next to him, realizing how close we were. Oh well we were friends right?
