Tegwen Gittins has dodged Death on more occasions that she can count on both hands. Her time in New York City only added to the count but it allowed the woman to heal as she came face to face with an old classmate, Newt Scamander. Old wou...

Since waking up after a night of cuddling, Newt felt a new sense of waking up feeling refreshed. It was hard for him to describe it but sleeping beside Tegwen had proved to be very beneficial, not only for the sleeping aspect but his overall status. Yet, he couldn't just tell her that. He wasn't about to confess that to Tegwen, in fear that the woman would become uneasy around him. If he confessed that he was beginning to crave her touch then he was sure that she would just abandon the trip entirely with him and return home. He couldn't afford for that to happen, after all the progress they had made. He didn't want to lose any of that.
"Are you ready to leave?"
His thoughts were interrupted by Tegwen approaching him. He looked over at the woman to see that she was ready to set out of the day. Pickett was resting in her hair, that she decided to wear down for Pickett's benefit. She had her bag draped over her shoulder carrying Freud, as she stood a little ways from him.
"Yes.Are you ready to leave?" He said back to her, before realizing how stupid his question was as she was obviously ready to go. Tegwen let out a small chuckle before nodding her head.
"Yes, I am," she said before walking over to him. "Pickett and Freud are all set too. Are all the creatures settled in your case?"
Newt clicked the case closed before nodding his head. "Yes, I fed them all, so they all should be fine until we settle somewhere for the evening. Whether it's in Giant territory or not."
"I'm not so sure that it's going to be in Giant territory," Tegwen said as she came to a stop in front of him. Newt held his breath, unsure of why she was standing so close to him, especially as there was plenty of room in the bedroom. She didn't seem bothered when it came to standing next to him before her hands reached out towards him.
His eyes widened with every passing second until he felt Tegwen's hands touch the collar of his shirt. He swallowed, nearly choking on the own air that he was attempting to inhale.
"Sorry," she told him as she didn't make eye contact with him. "Your collar was all over the place and it was bothering me."
"Oh th-thank you!"
"You're welcome!" She said brightly before backing away from him. "Anyways, as I was saying about giant territory, they've never let us set up camp overnight. Normally, we have to sleep outside of the Gurg's territory and are allowed back in daily with an escort. Until they realize that they don't want us around and then they tell us to leave. Not in the most friendly of manners either. Last time, they washed us out."
"They washed you out?" Newt repeated. "How does that work? Did they just wash the lot of you?"
Tegwen giggled and shook her head. "No, although that would have been a lot nicer. Have you ever seen the size of a giant's bucket, Mr. Scamander?"
Newt shook his head. "No, I can't say I have."
"Well, just like the giants, they are massive in size and when they are filled with water...it's a lot of water that they are pouring down on you. One of the wizards nearly drowned, it was like being carried down river. Terrible experience, so I suggest we keep our time among them to an absolute minimum. That's if they let us in."
