Most mornings, Newt was the first of the couple to wake up as he wasn't much of a sleeper. Despite Tegwen helping him stay asleep longer, the woman definitely enjoyed her sleep much more than he did. The particular morning was no exception. With the storms knocking out the power of the muggle inn and neither one of them wanting to put in any effort into their magic, they had gone to bed early. Or rather, the bed was involved in the activities. For Newt, he had never been more thankful for the dark, so he could hide his awkward facial expressions and a number of times he had blushed could not be counted.

It was an entirely new experience for him, it was one thing to be around for the mating process of other beasts, but to be present for his own, it left him uncomfortable in the beginning. Fortunately, he wasn't the only one. After all, it was a first for the two of them, neither one of them had been serial daters and they had put their jobs before any relationship. Newt knew how it worked, but it wasn't just about the action, he wanted to make sure that Tegwen was comfortable, he wanted to make sure that she was comfortable with their relationship advancing.

By then, the two had already professed their love for each other, but they weren't the type of people who could easily jump in a bed and get right into it. Sharing a bed and cuddling was one thing, but the next step would leave a permanent blush on their faces for a few days afterward. Newt wasn't even sure how to describe the feeling at the risk of sounding cheesy or cliche. There was a sense of a euphoric feeling, but there was so much more to it. When he picked up on the synchronization of their bodies and their breathing, he felt so much more relaxed.

The storm outside was neglected for the time being no matter how much the thunder rumbled or how bright the lightning lit up the room. Nothing disrupted the moment as all the creatures and little beasties were accounted for and had gone to bed for the night. The storm could howl as much as it wanted but it didn't matter to the two, they were just glad to be in the company of each other for the rest of the evening.

When Newt woke first the next morning, the storm had long passed, allowing the sun to shine freely through the light curtains that covered the window. He lifted his head from the pillow, squinting his eyes as they adjusted to the new brightness. His arm was asleep, as the circulation had been cut off at some point during his sleep. It was his own fault as he had wrapped his arms around Tegwen as she drifted off earlier, but he certainly didn't regret it. Looking down, Tegwen was asleep on her side, her back pressed against his chest as all of her hair had fallen into her face.

His free hand reached out to touch her bare shoulder, expecting it to be cold as she didn't have a blanket over her, but as his fingertips connected with her skin, he found her to be quite warm. She stirred slightly under his touch but didn't wake up just yet. Newt moved his hand towards her face and attempted to move her hair away so he could actually see her, however, his plan didn't go as smooth as her hair tickled her nose and caused her to sneeze violently.

He couldn't help but let out a small laugh, which finally brought her to roll onto her stomach and then turn her head to face him. Her hair was still in her face, completely all over the place sticking out in every direction possible. Newt smiled before realizing he had use of both of his hands in that moment. Despite the tingly feeling in his hand as he regained feeling, he used both of his hands to push her hair out of her face.

He held her hair back as she smiled up at him. "Good morning," she greeted him.

"Good morning," he replied softly in return. "Did you sleep well?"

"Does a niffler like shiny objects?" She countered bringing them both to laugh.

"I'll take that as a yes," he said before she went to sit up. He couldn't help the blush that rose to his cheeks as he was faced with hr naked body before him. He swallowed before looking down and it didn't take Tegwen very long to catch on.
