Chapter 39

Outskirts of the Village

As the Demon took in what had occurred at the large building, he saw the blonde female standing near the man from the camp.  He could smell her scent and knew she was scared.  He now needed a way to lure her to him and away from the men so that he could get her.

As he watched them work on the vehicles by the large building, the Demon moved around the outer part of the village and moved nearer to the building.  He was seeking out the female he bred with first and then he would try for the blonde female later.

Most of the humans were distracted enough by the wreck that he could slip in the same cargo bay door he entered before.  He smelled humans everywhere and it made him very leery as he walked around.  He walked past the door that he killed the human in and could still see parts that were burned when he was in the explosion before.  The building was still intact and the humans still using it, so the Demon was watching corners as he stalked.

He could not smell the female on this floor so he found a door that allowed him to go up in the building.  He opened the door and looked for humans.  As he entered, he heard two females talking in the area that went up.  He hid below the bottom parts and heard them walking above him.

“What is that weird smell?” One female observed.

“I don’t smell anything.  Since that fire, all I smell is smoke and soggy ceiling tiles.  Haha.”  The other female said as they walked through the door.

The Demon then listened as he walked up the steps and when he got to the next door, he listened as he opened it.  With no humans present, the Demon walked down the hall.

“What the fuck is that!” The Demon turned to see a man in a white coat looking at him with fear in his eyes.  The Demon ran at him quickly and pulled him into the first room he could get to.  The Demon ripped the man’s throat open before he could speak again.  The Demon dropped him on the ground.  Since the Demon was not really looking to kill or take souls, he left the man there and hurried out of the room.

Once again the Demon walked down the hall, smelling along the way for the female.  When he did not smell her on this floor, the Demon walked through the door at the end of this hall.  Once again he looked for humans as he opened the door.

As he started up the steps, a female stepped out of the door above him and exposed him in the lights by the steps.  The female screamed and turned and ran back through the door and down the hall.

The Demon ran to the door and opened it and saw her running towards the large opening in the middle of the hall.  The female was trying to grab an object with a wire attached and put it to her ear.  The Demon ran ahead and grabbed her as she was talking.

“Help me, it’s here!  The monster is…”  The Demon grabbed her head and immediately crushed it in his hands to stop her talking.  The female’s body was twitching in his grasp as he threw her body over the ledge in front of him and under the desk in the opening she was trying to get to.

Now the Demon felt desperate because she was able to tell other humans that he was here.  He started walking and smelling down the hall in order to find the woman before they found him.  As he approached a door, he heard a female voice and male voice and could smell that familiar smell of the hybrid’s mother.

The Demon looked into the darkened room and saw the female laying in a nest with white cloth around her.  The male was sitting in a chair with his back to the door.

The Demon walked in and closed the door immediately.  Both humans looked at him and the female shook with fear but did not cry.  The man with her ran to the far side of the room.  He started to shout at the Demon, but he was so enraged that he ran at the man and grabbed him, sinking his fangs and claws into the man and ripping him apart in a very bloody show.

When the Demon dropped the corpse and turned to the female in the nest.  Unfortunately, the female was out of the door and running away down the hall.

The Demon ran out of the room and caught her before she went too far.  As he grabbed her, she started to scream, but he covered her mouth with his large hand and started to carry her towards the far door.

When he got to the door, the Demon opened it quickly and ran down the steps and continued until he was in the cargo bay again.  When he reached the bay, several human males were standing there but facing out towards the vehicles still.

He was trying to figure out how to get out of the bay without the males seeing him and not lose the female again.  The Demon walked to the far end of the bay and hid behind a vehicle.

Then the Demon heard a commotion and saw several men with firesticks run through the bay and into the door he entered earlier to go up the steps. 

“Hurry, the creature is here and he has killed several people!  The nurse on the third floor was killed as she was talking to the security officer!”  The men by the bay door grabbed firesticks and ran with the other men.

The Demon watched them lave and he ran out of the bay door before anymore humans came back.  He has the female now.  Back to the cave and then he would be back for the blonde.  The Demon felt excitement for the first time in a while.

“Father, I may just succeed now.  Even without your help, I’m going to conquer this world and fill it with my hybrids.  Damn you all, humans and demons alike!”
