Chapter 47

Demon’s Lair

The girl lay in the nest with her legs pulled up towards her chest.  Still in pain from the last coupling with the monster.  It had been fairly gentle this time because she did not fight him.  It hurt so bad as he penetrated her and thrusted inside her and when he finished, she laid there for a while just staring into space letting the pain subside.

The Demon then walked to the edge of the cave and began to move the new rock he placed in front of the opening and moved into the night.

She was still unable to walk correctly after the birth of the first demon-child she had.  She was afraid she would become pregnant again and make one that lived.  She knew the monster hoped she would and then take care of it for him.  If she has a live child, she will kill it immediately before the monster kills her.

She gets up and wobbles on her feet a bit and shakes her head to rid it of vertigo before she walks towards the bowl that contains water for her.  She washes her face and between her legs and grimaces from the pain there.  She sees his semen and her blood on the rag of her clothes and retches.

“Why don’t I just kill myself and end this?  Why do I allow myself to let this thing do this?  I just want it to end one way or the other.  No more.”

Then she walks towards the rock and pushes with all her might but the rock doesn’t budge.  She pushes the other way and it moves very slightly but not even enough to cause any egress.  She looked down with tears in her eyes and sees a shiny object in the dirt by the door.

She digs it from the floor and sees it is a sharpened piece of flint like what her father would use to start fires and throw in the river by their home.  She tested the edge and found it sharp enough to draw blood.

She thought about what she could do with this prize, and with one quick slice, cut her own throat to the veins and fell to the floor and died watching her blood pool under her head.  She felt at peace at last and knew as she died that the monster would never make a child again.

The Demon was standing close to the cave opening looking at the vehicles of the humans drive around searching for him when he began to smell blood coming from near his lair.

He started to walk around the cave opening and saw liquid leaking from under the rock.  He pushed the rock away and saw the girl lying there.  At that moment he knew she had taken her life and stopped him from breeding with her.

The Demon let out a loud bellowing howl and he grabbed the girl and drug her body from the cave and threw it away from the cave into a ravine.  The Demon then started to grab anything he could get and smashed it, from small rocks to the large door boulder he found.  He was so enraged that he was blind to his fury.

At that moment he heard a vehicle come close and could hear men talking and smell the exhaust and firesticks.  His fury so blind and his anger so crisp, the Demon ran towards the vehicle containing the men.

The truck had turned around in a flat area when the driver saw a large, dark object coming at them.  He was unable to yell in time before the vehicle was hit and pushed into a shallow ditch.

The 10 men in the back of the truck began to yell and try to get out of the truck before it tipped over.  They were grabbing at their weapons and holding on to the side of the truck when two of them were grabbed from the bed and thrown away from them.

Two men jumped out the other side and fell to the ground but were unable to get their weapons to work.  Four of the men were weapons-ready and trying to find a target around the truck.  Of the last two, one had been thrown from the truck when it hit the ditch and was unconscious, the other had been grabbed by the Demon and ripped apart and his soul taken.
