Chapter 32

Chapter 32

The Town Armory

“Hector, I know that I said you were in charge, but that was before I knew he was coming.  Just go with it and have your men work together with his men and maybe we can beat this monster before he kills again!” Jagoe explains to Hector one last time before he hangs up.

Hector slams the phone down and begins to pace again.  This is the third call in the last 8 hours he has received from Jagoe explaining why this gringo was coming to his town and taking over for him.  “This is fucking bullshit!  This is my goddamn town and I will be the one to fucking save it from this motherfucking monster!”

Hector walked into the storage room and grabbed his rifle, a large box of shells and two grenades.  “I’ll go look again and when I find this asshole, I’ll kill it myself and blow it’s ass to kingdom come when I do.  No asshole gringo needs to push me to the side because he gave me anything.  Fuck Jagoe and this Cameron asshole!”

Hector moved to the door, looked around the room at his office and the few men milling around and decided that the town and his people were worth the risk he was taking.  Out the door he went and he walked to his truck, got in and drove off in search of his destiny or death.  One way or another, the creature would be dead or he will be dead.  “At least I’m trying for my people and not for the money it will make me.  Fucking gringos!”

As the truck pulls away, the Demon steps from the shadows and watches the vehicle move away.  The Demon lurches ahead and starts looking into windows for the female he bred with.  When he looked into one house, he saw humans watching lighted boxes or sitting at tables with food on it.  The sight of food and humans made his mouth begin to water so he turned away and headed to the end of town near the building he had been to before to find any humans to kill and feed before he goes insane,

As he walks to the door, he sees another human standing near the door and holding the lighted, foul smelling sticks again to his mouth.  The human is holding a stick that is attached to his body by a rope of some kind.  The demon makes noise by scratching the nearest tree and the human looks his way and begins to move over towards him.

When the man nears the tree, the Demon moves behind him and the man hears the noise.  When the human swings around, the Demon grabs his head and crushes it before he can yell out, but the reflex causes the human’s finger to squeeze the trigger and the weapon goes off.  The Demon is startled and drops the man and looks at the building.  When no other humans come, the Demon begins to feed on the soul and flesh.

Just as the Demon absorbs the soul, his back begins to burn in several spots and he turns to see another human pointing a stick at him and it is giving off fire like before.  The sound is loud and the front of the Demon begins to burn in spots as well.  The man then stops firing and looks at the Demon.

The man turns and runs away from the Demon, but before he can get many steps, the Demon has him in his arms and the man’s spine is cracking in two.  The man is twitching as the Demon rips out his throat with his teeth and starts drinking his blood.  The soul enters the Demon and he feels stronger but is becoming more enraged with his power.

“I must find the female and breed with her again and then find the blonde female and breed with her.  Her companions may prove to be a problem so I may kill them too.”  The Demon thought to himself as he walked away from his victims.  As he was walking through the trees on the perimeter of the town, lights from a vehicle gained his attention.  The vehicle was coming back to the building that he had just left.
