Y/N shivered as she stood at the bus stop waiting for the bus that would take her home and grunted as something hit her in the back and she looked up to see a group of men surrounding her and beating her, after a while, she stopped fighting and lay there on the ground sobbing as the men continued to beat her, until they heard sirens and tried to run off, but a few people who had just come out of the building behind the bus stop saw the men and chased after them while a cop car pulled up in front of Y/N as she spat blood onto the ground next to her head as she made a valiant effort to get up and groaned when she couldn't.

"Relax." The officer said and Y/N looked up at the person in uniform to look at the shiny name tag. Officer J- "an ambulance is on the way." Officer J says and Y/N groans, focusing on the sky.

A few months after the beating Y/N took, she looked at the money that was put in her hand by a short girl with warm loving eyes.

"What's this and who are you?" Y/N asks and the small woman smiles brightly.

"My name is Ally Brooke, I'm here on behalf of my church. When we heard about what happened to you at that bus stop, we started a donation box for you to get you a car." Ally says and Y/N raises an eyebrow.

"So a bunch of bible thumpers raised money to help a gay intersex girl. What's the catch?" Y/N asks and Ally frowns and sits across from Y/N.

"Honey, why so jaded?" Ally asks and Y/N glares at the girl.

"I don't have to tell you anything." Y/N says and watches as Ally puts her hand over Y/N's.

"Look, Y/N. I can tell you've had a bad past with religion and people in it. But the people at my church are different." Ally says and Y/N looks at Ally. "Come to one service with me and you'll see that just because one church is closed minded and backwards, doesn't mean every church is." Ally says and Y/N shakes her head, putting the money back in the kind woman's hands.

"No. Thank you, Miss Brooke. But I respectfully decline your offer to go to church with you and I decline your church's money equally as respectfully. I appreciate your kindness, but I'm fine on my own." Y/N says before paying for her food and leaving the diner she was in.

A few hours later and Y/N is jumped again, and a week later, she's eating at the same diner she met Ally in and she looks over and smiles a little when she sees Ally and goes to sit beside her.

"So I was thinking we could do it again. Maybe this time she'll-"

"Excuse me, Miss Brooke, I believe you left your smile in my brain, I'd love to return it to you, but I can't get it out of my brain." Y/N half flirts with the short woman and Ally looks over with a deep blush on her face before a bright smile appears on her face.

"Y/N! It's so good to see you again!" She says, hugging the beat up girl. "Oh my gosh! What happened?!" Ally asks, noticing the black eye, busted lip and the cut on her eyebrow.

"I was jumped again." Y/N says and Ally hugs Y/N tight. "So, you remember your offer?" Y/N asks, running the back of her neck.

"Yeah. Why?"

"Does it still stand?" Y/N asks and Ally smiles wide.

"Yes! Of course! There's a service tonight at six. Just come to this address and you'll be welcomed with open arms." Ally says and Y/N watches Ally write the address down on a napkin.

"Thank you Ally." Y/N says before leaving again.

After two months, Ally hadn't seen Y/N anywhere. That is until she walked into the Barnes & Noble to see the girl curled up in a corner with a Starbucks cup and a big text book. She went to go over to the girl, but stopped when she saw a girl she knew in high school. Lauren. Or now as the town knows her, Lieutenant Jauregui of the local Police Department. Ally watches Lauren walk over to Y/N with a few more books and walked away as they smiled at each other, thinking it best not to interrupt the duo in whatever they were doing.
