At soccer practice, I grunt as I take a ball to the stomach as I block Jensen, a sophomore back defender as she tries to get to my goal and watch as Alex takes the ball and heads in the opposite direction and run after her as she scores and run off the grid as another set of defenders takes the field. After practice, I go home and shower before going out to get some food and go inside the restaurant.

"You know. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were following me." I hear and look over to see Lauren. "This is what, five times today?"

"Pretty close to five." I say and she smiles, giggling the cutest giggle I've ever heard in my life.

"I'm waiting for my family to get here, would you like to join us?" She offers and I hesitate.

"I don't want to intrude." I say and Lauren shakes her head.

"You won't be." She says and I shake my head.

"Maybe another time." I say and she shrugs.

"Okay then." She says and I smile before following the hostess to a table.

When soccer tryouts came around, I spent those two days off of work and spending all my time on the field. Yeah, I know that I'll make Varsity, I'm a senior. All seniors make Varsity, but I also want to show that I'm not just being placed back on Varsity just for the fact that I'm a Senior.

"Y/L/N!" I hear Missy yell as she walks over to me on the practice field. "What are you doing?!" She yells out and I look over.

"Working out. Practicing. Earning my spot on Varsity."

"You're an hour early."

"I'm actually three hours early, I've been here for two hours already." I say and Missy scoffs.

"Okay, you're insane. Did you stop at all?"

"No."

"Well, there's water over there."

"I know. I watched the trainers put it there." I say.

"Go get a drink before I hurt you." She says and I sigh as I walk over to the water and take a bottle and empty it in one sitting and refill it before putting it back and take my sweat soaked shirt off and toss it to my bag. "Y/N!" Missy shouts as I walk back to where I was. "Put a shirt on!"

"The football players are on the turf today." I say and Missy huffs.

"Fine. But when practice starts, I want a shirt on you." She says and I nod because I have clean shirts in my car.

After tryouts, I help the team put the stuff in the shed and help one of the trainers on the team put the water containers into the back of her truck and grab my stuff and get ready to leave. I put my stuff in my car and drive home so I can shower and go to bed because I've gotta go in early tomorrow. When I wake up, I shower again, because I woke up covered in sweat, and get ready for work before making myself a light breakfast and head out. As I get to my post, I get ready for my shift and relax because this is my last shift of the summer. I'm not excited to go back to school, but I'm excited to get back to competing. That doesn't mean that I won't keep my grades up though, I kinda have to in order to compete. As I'm relaxing and watching everyone and the water to make sure nothing goes wrong, I look over when I hear that giggle and grin to myself when I see Lauren, but look away because I have a job to do and get up when my shift ends and grab my things and leave. When I get home, I slam on the brakes when I see Jim's car back in the driveway and groan, but drive around back and park my car in my garage and turn it off before getting out, locking it and leaving the garage after closing the door and go inside and look up when I hear Teresa call my name happily. I roll my eyes and brush past her and go up to my room and lock my door so I can shower and change in peace and huff when I hear banging on my door when I finish getting dressed and open the door and look at the woman who I sadly look like.
