Y/N Y/L/N was a sixteen year old YouTuber from the United States, and she made a bet with a fellow YouTuber, which may have been a bad idea.

---

"So, we agree that if you win, I go on X Factor, but if I win, you go on AGT?" Y/N asks and Ally nods as both YouTubers pull out their cameras.

"So guys, Y/N and I came up with this insane idea, it's basically that her and I are going to sing a cover of a song, in one collab together, and you guys have to choose who was better, so if I win, Y/N has to go on X Factor. If Y/N wins, I have to go on AGT." Ally explains while Y/N points her camera at her friend because she's too lazy to explain it herself.

About a week later, both girls' fan bases seemed to agree on them singing a mashup of Don't by Bryson Tiller and Drake's One Dance, Ally was tasked with Don't while Y/N gladly took on One Dance. They also picked the songs they wanted to sing, from their comments based on the most popular requests. And it was the day to record the fateful video, so as Ally set up her camera, Y/N set up her own camera before they set up the lighting and microphones and chairs so the two friends could face me.

"Hi guys." Y/N and Ally say at the same time, waving to both cameras. "So as some of you guys know, we have this bet going, and this is the video that is going to decide the outcome of the bet." Ally says, looking at Y/N, who nods.

"Yeah, so, we're going to sing a mashup of One Dance and Don't by Drake and Bryson Tiller respectively. I'm going to be singing One Dance." Y/N says, looking at Ally who nods.

"And I am going to be singing Don't."

"You're going down, Hills." Y/N says and Ally rolls her eyes.

"Sure thing, kid."

"Ooh, pulling the 'kid' card on me." Y/N says and the two friends laugh before starting recording the video and song.

-

After two weeks of uploading the video, it was obvious that Ally had won, so Y/N stuck to her word and signed up for X Factor UK and bought herself, her family, and when Ally voiced the fact that she wanted to tag along, she made the older woman purchase her own tickets to England with the teenager and her family, not because Y/N was being mean to one of her best friends, but because Y/N was supposed to be saving for other things and not buying the entire planet two way trips from England back to California. On the day that everyone was set to leave, they all met up at LAX and boarded their plane together, coincidentally, Ally and Y/N had seats right next to each other. So the entire flight, they spent the time with each other keeping Y/N's nerves at bay, because as soon as they landed in London, they'd have to rush to the venue for the audition.

-

When they did land, they actually had some time to get there, so they took that time to get to the venue still though, the earlier she gets there, the earlier she'll be taken. Right? That's what everyone thought, even Y/N, but despite the fact that she got there relatively early, it still took three and a half hours to get her on that stage in front of Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Lois Walsh, and Nicole Scherzinger. But when she did, she had a big, confident smile on her face, her eyes locking with Simon's as she stands on the big X on the floor.

"Hello." Simon says and Y/N grins.

"Hi." Y/N says and Simon raises his eyebrows.

"You're American?"

"Yes, I am." Y/N says, chuckling a little.

"Well, what brings you here?"

"An airplane." Y/N says, smiling a little as she gets a small laugh.
