Y/N smiled as she finished settling herself and her daughter into their new home in Los Angeles and smiled at the little girl as she ran up to her.

"Why isn't it cold, mommy?" She asks and Y/N smiles

"You'll find out in school, baby." Y/N says and Rylan shrugs.

"Okay!" She says before running off to play with Ally again.

"She's settling in nicely." Lauren says from where she's standing next to Y/N and Y/N smiles.

"She is, isn't she?" She asks and Lauren smiles.

"So, Y/N, can we talk?" Lauren asks and Y/N shrugs.

"Yeah. What's up?" She asks and Lauren sighs.

"Y/N. I still love you." Lauren starts and Y/N stays quiet to let Lauren get everything off her chest. "When I found out you had a girlfriend, it crushed me, but then I found out that you two had a child together and that destroyed me. Then all the drama happened and I met her, she's a physical representation of everything that's good in life. She's a tiny version of you. And I love you both. I want a second chance, Y/N, I want another shot at loving you and if you give me this second chance, I promise to do it right. Yes I have my music and my girls, but you're my everything. And so is that little girl in there with Ally. I want to show you that I was stupid for throwing away what we had for some stupid boy and I can't stand to wake up and not see you right beside me." Lauren confesses and Y/N smiles. "You're smiling." Lauren says and Y/N nods.

"Just shut up and kiss me." Y/N giggles out and Lauren happily complies.

It's been fourteen years and I finally convinced Y/N to move home to Miami with me and bring Rylan with us. It's been about five years since the move and Rylan's settled in well. My wife and I are as happy as ever and living a comfortable life in a neighborhood that's owned by five families and five families only. Rylan goes to Miami High and is captain of the basketball team there. Imagine my shock. My ex professional basketball player wife's daughter playing basketball and getting the captainship. No way I saw that coming.

"Laur? You there?" Y/N asks and I smile at her and kiss her softly.

"Yeah."

"Come on, Rylan wants us there early to escort her." Y/N says and I smile. Yeah, Rylan doesn't remember her birth mother, which is a good thing, because from what I heard, after she was arrested for aggravated battery and attempted manslaughter, she was arrested and sentenced to prison. I don't remember the duration of the sentence nor do I care, but she assaulted a handful of guards while behind bars and was in and out continuously after that because of drugs and died of an overdose while she was still locked up. Rylan was a senior in school, she was a year ahead of everybody else her age, but that's because Y/N used to teach her stuff when they still lived in Minnesota. By the time Rylan was five, she had a fifth grade education, but that only equaled a jump into the grade ahead of her. She wasn't complaining though, the sooner she could play college ball and follow in Y/N's footsteps, the happier she was. And I didn't care. As long as she was happy with her life, I supported her.

When Y/N and I got to the game, we set up our seats and followed the team into the inflatable tunnel and wrapped our arms around Rylan's and waited for her to be introduced. She was introduced and we walked with her to shake hands with the head coach and I took her regular warm up shirt with only her number on the back as Rylan slipped the new one with her last name and number on the back and she hugged us before going and joining the team.
