When I Needed You Most

"Jinyoung invited me to dinner earlier. Can I go?" asked Jaebum.

Youngjae stopped ironing their clothes and looked up at Jaebum with a pout.

"But I thought we would have a special dinner date today."

"I know, I'm sorry, Youngjae it's just... Jinyoung... He's been through a lot this week and I really want to help him, especially since we're co-workers."

Youngjae nodded silently.

'Is he really that important?' the younger thought.

"Okay." Youngjae said instead.

Jaebum grinned and walked over to Youngjae and gave him a sweet kiss on the lips.

-Dinner with Jinyoung-

"When are you going to tell him that we've been dating behind his back? When will you tell him that you love me more?" Jinyoung asks Jaebum, a slightly sharp tone in his words.

Jaebum fiddles with his fingers and watches as Jinyoung puts food on their plates.

"I-I... I don't know... Youngjae's really fragile and-"

"Well, if you won't tell him, I will do it. Starting from today, I'll make you have dinner with me and you have to keep asking for his permission. I won't stop doing that until you tell him that you two are over. Slowly, he will start getting mad and you guys will fight and then break-up. Easy, right?"

Jaebum shrugs, "I guess..."

Jinyoung sat down across from Jaebum and took a sip of his water.

"You love me, right?" asked Jinyoung.

"I do, it's just-"

"If you love me, you wouldn't be so reluctant to tell him you two are over. Jaebum, do this for me. For us. You love me and I love you as well. I don't want someone tailing behind us."

Jaebum nods and smiles softly at Jinyoung. His hand holds Jinyoung's gently and he kisses the man's fingertips.

Jinyoung smiles as well and continues, "If you don't want to tell him straight-forward, then just follow that plan. Before you know it, the break-up will happen all by itself."

"Okay..."

"Okay, good. Bon appetite!"

-Next Day-

"Oh... Again?..." Youngjae says as he frowns sadly.

"Yeah. Jinyoung really needs me there for him." Jaebum says, grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge.

"But... Jaebum, I need you too..."

"I'm sorry, Youngjae, I'll make it up to you tomorrow."

Youngjae sighs but nods anyway. "Okay."

The younger stands there, waiting for Jaebum to give him a kiss but instead, he sees Jaebum put on his shoes and walk out the door.

-At Jinyoung's-

Jaebum twirls Jinyoung around right when he enters the man's house and gives him a loving and affectionate kiss.

"Hi."

Jinyoung laughs at what Jaebum said and hugs him tightly. "Hello to you too."

They stare into each other's eyes until Jinyoung pecks Jaebum's lips and says, "I love you, Bum."

"I love you too."

-Youngjae-

Even though Jaebum has told him many times that he loved him, he had a weird feeling in his gut that told him it was all a big lie.

He was cooking in the kitchen when all of a sudden he stopped and had a weird feeling.

"What if he's... He's cheating on me?" he asked himself.

Youngjae shook his head, "No. Jaebum and Jinyoung are only friends. Jaebum truly loves me."

Even though he said that, he couldn't help but think maybe it wasn't true.

-Two Days Later-

"Seriously, Jaebum??? Again??? You said you would make it up to me two freaking days ago."

"Why are you getting mad? I'm only helping my best friend."

"Why am I getting mad? Is that seriously the question you have for me??? YOU SHOULD ALREADY KNOW WHY I'M MAD. I should be asking you a question. Why are you always leaving?"

"Because Jinyoung needs me."

"Well, I need you more!!!"

"Shut up and stop being so selfish."

Jaebum shoves Youngjae to the side and puts on his shoes then grabs his cellphone.

He doesn't say a word and leaves the house leaving a crying Youngjae on the floor.

-At Jinyoung's-

"Did you do it yet?"

"Not yet."

Jinyoung rolls his eyes. "Just tell him already. You already said you loved me. It shouldn't matter if you hurt him or not. You shouldn't be caring for him."

"Jinyoung, he's a human-being too."

"I know, but he needs to face reality and know that you belong to me."

"Then I'll do it tomorrow."

"Good."

-The Next Morning-

Jaebum comes home to Youngjae that morning with a confident feeling.

He was going to break-up with Youngjae.

He waits patiently on the couch with his head down then he's startled when he sees Youngjae standing in front of him.

"What do you want for breakfast, Bummie?" Youngjae asks with with a small smile.

Jaebum sees the smile and remembers that those were one of the reasons he fell in love with Youngjae. His smile.

His thoughts go back to Jinyoung and he shakes his head.

"I don't want breakfast."

"Oh..."

"We need to talk. Sit down." Jaebum says in a serious voice.

Youngjae sits down next to Jaebum and looks at him, waiting for what he has to say.

"We need to break-up."

"What...?"

"I've been dating Jinyoung while I've been dating you. When we first started dating, it was only you. All of a sudden, I met Jinyoung and... I fell in love with him and I dated him as well. I wanted to break-up with you sooner, since I loved him more... But I didn't want you to..."

Jaebum stops mid-way when he sees Youngjae sobbing uncontrollably next to him.

"I-I knew it... I k-knew it... Pabo, pabo, pabo, I knew i-i-it..." Youngjae muttered, his hands covering his face.

The house was silent except the cries and whimpers from Youngjae.

Jaebum didn't want to see Youngjae in pain so he stood up and went to leave but his sleeve was pulled back.

"Bummie, before you leave, I want you to know I love you very much." Youngjae said, tears streaming down his face.

Jaebum's heart slightly breaks but he just nods and walks out, not knowing that the one he just left commited suicide on that day.

So as y'all know, angst is life so I wrote angst haha.

Dessire loves JJ Project and I love 2Jae so I tried to put both ships in one chapter and end with JJ Project so unnie is satisfied. ♡♡♡Dessert♡♡♡ [our inside joke haha]

I know Youngjae doesn't have a happy ending but I guess JJ Project does
