"Daddy! Wake up!" Derek sighed as he felt the covers ripped from him. His normally warm body was flushed by the cool air that haunted his room. Derek heard more pats from the tiny feet and then felt the bed sink slightly before he was being tapped repeatedly. Derek didn't want to get up, it was a sunday, who actually got out of bed on a Sunday?

"El, 5 more minutes." The toddler huffed leaving her dad and going into the kitchen. She sat on the tiled floor, tracing patterns lightly-often of her dad's tattoo. She started to sing the lullaby her mother used to sing. This caught Derek's attention from the bedroom. He felt his heart ache at the thought of his late partner. Derek hurled himself from the sheets, sitting on the edge of the bed with his hands in his head as the little girl whispered the last memory she had from her mother.

It'd been a year since Braeden died, Derek was still hurting but with no family around, he knew he was the only one to look after their little girl. Elara was four, she was taking her first steps in school and trying to have a normal life, despite the loss of her mum. Elara could hardly remember her mum, but she could remember the lullaby. The Moon lullaby. Every night her mum would sing this song, before leaving after a sweet kiss on the head.

"I see the Moon, the Moon sees me. God bless the Moon and God bless me." Derek followed the little voice and smiled at the small child sat in the kitchen. Elara continued onto the second verse, replacing Moon with Stars and then on to the third verse, replacing Stars with World. Derek crouched down after Elara paused, he placed her hand on his heart and the both softly sang, "I know an Angel watches over me, God bless angels and God bless me."

"Is mummy an Angel?" Derek smiled, nodding.

"And where is she?" He asked, she kept her hand on his heart, using her other to hover over her own.

"Here." Elara smiled, Derek nodded before picking her up to gently place her on the counter. "So what shall we have for breakfast?" Derek asked, Elara pointed to the cookie crisps laying on the side, he picked it up and went to pour it until Elara screamed. Derek immediately stopped and engulfed the small girl, unsure of what was wrong.

"What's a matter?" Derek asked, kissing the girl's head.

"The wolf." She pouted, Derek looked around suspiciously. "No daddy! There!" She pointed to the cereal and Derek pinched the bridge of his nose annoyed.
"Elara, are you being serious? It's a cartoon." Derek groaned, turning the cereal around so she didn't have to see it.

"But it's a wolf, like the one in my dream." Derek froze. He'd never changed nor talked about wolves since he left Beacon Hills, so why was she dreaming of wolves? They didn't even have wolves in Thyme Falls.

"What dream?" Elara looked up at her dad, her blue eyes clashing with his. She tilted her head to the side and shrugged.

"I forgot." She smiled, before hopping down onto the floor. From there she left, walking into her own room and continuing to play with her toys. Derek stood in the kitchen confused. There was no way Elara had seen any kind of wolf, only the one on a cereal box, but he couldn't imagine her having nightmares about that. He sighed before finishing off the breakfast and making her eat at the table. She refused to answer any more questions, leaving Derek trying to work out what was wrong.
