Derek woke to Elara screaming. He jumped up, rushing into her room and saw her battling with her duvet cover. He raced over, removing it and picking her up. He wrapped his arms around her small frame, telling her to hush and that she was okay. When she finally woke up, her arms shakily held her father back.

"Dad?" She cried, he hummed in response feeling her shake hard. "It happened again."

Derek let her go and she laid back down on the bed. Derek laid beside her as she tried to control her breathing, he held her hand before she began to say. "The moon, the stars, the truth." They repeated it again together before there was silence.

"What happened this time?" Derek asked, looking at his daughter who had taken many of her mother's looks.

"I was running through some kind of forest and I ran into some fireflies. I stopped and got too distracted, it bit my leg and I fell to the floor, all I could see were red eyes. It growled before it bit my neck and then left me to bleed." Elara announced, Derek kissed her forehead, smoothing her back as he tried to calm the poor child.

"Well one, you don't go in forests. Two-" Elara cut him off by sitting up, clutching her head in her hands.

"Dad, you giving me a list of reasons why that wouldn't happen, isn't going to help! You have been doing it since I was four, you think there would be improvements, if it was working!" Elara exclaimed, her dad sat up beside her as attempted to wrap his arm around her, she pushed it off.

"Well I don't know where this irrational fear of wolves has come from. One minute you were fine and the next cartoon wolves scared you."

"It's not a cartoon anymore dad! It's big, it's got fur, it's got red eyes and it kills me everytime!" Elara screamed at her father. He got up, looking around the empty room and then back at his daughter who was trying not to cry.

"El, I'm sorry," Derek muttered, he pulled her into a hug, she held onto him as if it was life and death. "I just want to help you and it's hard for me to watch this happen to you. Maybe moving to Beacon Hills will help." Derek had a plan, but he needed to be in Beacon Hills to do it. Elara fidgeting in her father's arms, she was getting scared about the move.

"What's up?" He asked, holding her back so he could look at her. He could smell her anxiety as it grew.

"What if they don't like me dad?" She questioned shyly, pulling entirely out of his grip to look out of the window. It was a Saturday and the morning sun had now begin to rise. The trees danced in the wind along with the quiet whistling from the windows.

"How could they not?" Derek touched just under Elara's chin, lifting her face up into the light. She gave a half hearted smile before wrapping her arms around his waist.

"I love you dad."

"I love you too baby." He kissed her head before telling her to try and sleep again. Although it was early, they had a long drive to Beacon Hills and he wanted to make sure they both had enough sleep.

It was 11am, when they set off, Derek had packed most of their carriable belongings which was mainly just photos and other small collectables from over the years.

"So who lives in Beacon Hills?" Elara muttered, she knew Derek used to live there but he never spoke of it.

"Well, When I left Scott, a boy who-uh-just some kid that I used to...hang around with?" Derek made it sound like a question as he avoided the topic he was so reluctant to tell his daughter. Elara started laughing and her dad smiled weakly.
