It'd been a week since Elara and Michael shared their first kiss. It'd taken them a few days to come to terms with the fact they both wanted to start a relationship, but when deciding after spending the whole Saturday together, Michael finally asked her and they kept it a secret. It was now a Friday and tonight was the night of a party.
Elara and Michael were on their way to school. Michael's car had a new bonnet and a paint job, meaning his car was as good as new.
"I was thinking about us." Michael started, he held out his hand for Elara to take, she gladly accepted holding it in hers, smiling to herself.
"I think we should go public. I mean no one is really going to care, are they?" Michael said sounding hopeful. Elara hesitated, no one would care apart from Adam, her dad and Stiles. Probably the three most important people in her life at that moment.
"Yeah, okay." She breathed nervously. Michael smiled puling his hand up to hers, kissing it lightly. When they pulled up, Michael walked around to Elara's side helping her out before pressing her to the car and kissing her deeply. Elara taken back, took a while to kiss him as well but finally melted into it. Michael pulled away, linking their fingers together and keeping her close to him as people stared. They waited by her locker, talking and kissing as they waited for class to arrive.
Adam came into school a little later than usual, his bike had broken down so he needed to walk today. He was excited about today because he was going to ask Elara about the party, he couldn't help the smile on his face. They'd surprisingly spent a lot of time together, with all the teaching her about guns and Stiles needing Scott a lot.
When Adam rounded the corner, he noticed Elara and Michael. He smirked to himself because he could openly talk about the party and Elara gave her word, so he could rub it in Michael's face. Just before Elara noticed him, Michael grabbed her face and began kissing her. Just as involved, Elara kissed him back, her arms landing around his neck, his resting on her waist pulling her closer. Adam felt winded as he started backing up, his back hit a locker and he choked for air.
"That son of a bitch." Adam said through gritted teeth. His fists landed to the side clenching tightly, it was like someone had kicked him in the throat. Adam straightened himself out and made his way out of the school, not really feeling well. He pulled out his phone, messaging Elara saying he was ill and couldn't make the party tonight.
When he got home, Scott and Stiles were in the living room.
"Ad? Why are you home?" Scott questioned looking at the clock.
"I don't feel well." Adam mumbled, making his way upstairs.
"Don't lie to me, I can smell you're upset." Scott exclaimed taking Adam's shoulder in his hands.
"I don't want to talk about it." Adam muttered, shaking his dad's hand from him.
"Adam! Tell me." Scott was getting angrier and he let his eyes glow red. Stiles came out of the room, seeing the father and son, he saw Adam's face and grabbed Scott's shoulder.
"Let him go, Scott." Stiles advised, Scott listening and Adam sluggishly made his way up the stairs to his room. Scott sighed, sitting back down on the couch.
"What's wrong with him?" Scott muttered.
"That, my young friend, was heartbreak." Stiles informed the concerned father. Scott ran his hand through his hair, there were somethings he couldn't protect his son from. Even the non-supernatural things.
"So, the last information we had on Derek was that he was in Arizona. The exact location was Flagstaff. That's a near 8-hour drive from here. That was one week ago." Stiles informed Scott, who brought himself away from listening to his son sob in his room.
