Himoko's POV

"YAHOO!" I jumped startled and looked up to see a cart flying rapidly fast through one of the chutes, only there is three kids in it. I huffed in annoyance, why do kids find messing with the chutes so fun for?! I climbed up onto a roof before climbing where one of the earth benders was sending chutes somewhere else. Once I reached the top the kids went past, me and the boy with a lemur on his head locked eyes, the color of our irises almost identical. I felt my heart skip a beat in recognition before time sped up again and they flew past. I cursed under my breath, watching them fly off onto a roof and finally landing in a cart of cabbages. I jumped down landing on the roof and slid off of it to apprehend them. I stood above them with my hands on my hips, popping my right hip out

"Uhh, three cabbages please?" The boy asked awkwardly before two guards walked to my side, the same expression I had on my face matching theirs. I was amused but also mad at the destruction they caused to the many homes and chutes, along with the cabbage cart

"Your Majesty, are you alright?" One of the guards asked me in worry and I nodded

"I'm alright. But, I could say much more about the destruction they caused to the many chutes and houses-"

"MY CABBAGES!!!" The Cabbage Vendor yelled in agony, holding an arm full of them close to his chest

"Majesty?" I heard the girl ask no one in particular

"Very well. Let's get them back to the king so he shall pass judgement upon them." The guard who asked me if I was alright, stated before grabbing the boy by his upper arm roughly. The other two guards followed in suit. I walked beside them with my arms crossed, the nagging feeling at the back of my head worsening, that arrow mark on that boy's forehead seems so familiar...

We entered the grand throne room moments later, Pappy staring intently at us, clearly hearing the news from the other guards. Karlie was beside him with her hands on her hips, her eyes studying the three kid's faces in curiosity, trying to pinpoint on who they were. I locked eyes with Pappy and saw him gesture me to go over to him and my teacher. I nodded strictly, walking over to them before standing beside Karlie

"Is it just me or are those two kids wearing water nation clothing?" I asked Karlie in a whisper. She nodded briefly

"Judging my the material, most likely not from the North Water Tribe." She replied with ease

"And the boy?"

"I haven't seen that type of clothing before, but the tattoos look strangely familiar..." She muttered the last part

"That's what I thought as well." I informed her

"Majesty, these juveniles were arrested for, vandalism, false pretense, and malicious endeavor of cabbages." The guard listed off

"CHOP OFF THEIR HEADS! FOR EACH SET OF CABBAGE!" The Cabbage Vendor yelled, hitting his fist on his hand angrily

"Silence! Only the king can pass down judgement!" I looked at the corner of my eyes at my grandfather, watching as he chewed on the inside of his cheek in thought, conflict clear in his eyes

"What is your judgement, sire?" The guard asked him, a brief moment passing before Pappy declared it. The two water tribe kids looking concern while the boy was whistling, minding his own business

"Throw them-!" I jumped at his loud scratchy voice

"A feast~!" Karlie face palmed beside me, sighing in despair

"Wait... What?" I asked no one in particular, confused as to what he meant by 'Throw them a feast.'. That was soon answered when we were led into the dining room for lunch

"Heheh! The people in my city have gotten fat from too many feasts, so I hope you like your chicken with no skin." Pappy stated while walking behind them

"Thanks, but I don't eat meat." The boy with the familiar arrows stated,

"How about you? I bet you like meat." Pappy grabbed the drumstick off of the boy's plate before shoving it into the boy with the wolf tail's mouth who began chewing it with joy

"Is it just me, or is this guy's crown a little crooked?" I heard the girl in the group state in a whisper to Aang, making cukoo motions at the side of her head. Pappy walked back over to our side of the table, sitting down in his seat while me and Karlie sat down on either side of the table across from one another

"So, tell me young bald one. Where are you from?" Pappy asked him

"I'm from... Kangaroo Island."

"Oh, Kangaroo Island, eh? I hear that place is really hopping!" The room was silent for a moment from his bad attempt at a pun. The boy with the wolf tail suddenly bursted out in laughter, causing both me and Karlie to face palm while the arrow boy and dark haired girl stared at him like he had grown a third head

"What? It was pretty funny." Pappy yawned, suddenly getting up from his seat

"Well, all these good jokes are making me tired. Guess it's time to the hay. " With a forced thrust of strength, he threw a drumstick towards the arrow boy it approaching him quickly. I stood up in shock, eyes wide in shock as he caught the drumstick in midair to a standstill. Airbending! The guards behind us gasped in shock while Karlie excitedly stood up at the sight of airbending that wasn't created by me

"There's an airbender in our presence and not just any airbender, the Avatar!" The boy dropped the drumstick onto his plate, hiding his hands behind his back, "Now what do you have to say for yourself, Mr. Pipinpadaloxicopolis?" Me and Karlie exchanged looks before directing our attention back on the avatar who stood up with his arms wide as if he was accepting defeat from a battle

"Okay! You caught me. I'm the Avatar, doing my Avatar thing, keeping the world safe. Everything checks out, no firebenders here. So, good work everybody." His two friends stood up just as he put his arms around them, "Love each other, respect all life and don't run with your spears. We'll see you next time!" The three kids began heading for the door, only for the guards to stop them by blocking the exit with earth

"You can't keep us here. Let us leave!" The girl demanded and I narrowed my eyes slightly, curious as to what Pappy wanted to do with them

"Lettuce leaf?" He picked up a lettuce leaf off of his plate, taking a bite out of it

"We're in serious trouble. This guy is nuts." The wolf tail boy stated

"Tomorrow the Avatar will face four deadly challenges. But for now, the guards will show you to your chamber." He turned towards one of the guards, gesturing for me and Karlie to sit back down

"My liege, do you mean the good chamber, or the bad chamber?"

"The newly refurbished chamber." Pappy answered simply and I groaned, not this again...

"Wait, which one are we talking about?"

"The one that used to be the bad chamber, until the recent refurbishing that is. Of course, we've been calling it the new chamber, but we really should number them. Uh, take them to the refurbished chamber that was once bad!" He ordered the guards, the guards leading the three out as Pappy sat back down, taking another bite out of his lettuce leaf. The conversation didn't begin until we could no longer here their footsteps

"Avatar?! I knew those markings looked familiar."

"So the rumors were true then." Karlie asked Pappy who nodded, drinking out of his cup

"Indeed."

"What on earth do you have planned for him?" I asked Pappy curiously

"4 challenges. The first will be when he needs to get a key for my lunchbox hanging in a powerful waterfall surrounded by spikes. Next would be to find our pet Fluffy, and third to battle and defeat an opponent of his choice, fourth to figure out my real name, and fifth-"

"Fifth? You said there was only four-"

"It will throw the avatar off. And the fifth challenge will not be relieved until all four challenges are completed." I nodded, sitting back into my chair

"Very well sire." Karlie stated, stabbing the meat on her plate harshly with a fork

"Let's eat, bad to let this good food go to waste!"
