Himoko's POV

Shortly after Aang and Pappy went out to have a spin on the chutes, me, Karlie, Sokka, and Katara stayed inside

"Katara, Sokka. I presume you guys are going to the North Pole to get Aang a Water Bending Teacher?" Katara nodded in confirmation

"Yes."

"I am from there, I know the perfect master for him." Karlie told them and I swear I saw their eyes glimmer in hope

"Really?!" Karlie nodded with a chuckle

"Yes. After all he is the one who taught me how to bend." Karlie waves her hand gracefully in a upward motion towards a vase, the water within it coming out in a string

"Really?! That is amazing!" Katara stated, praising Karlie who nodded, letting the water drop back into the vase

"Umm, then how come you were teaching the princess?" Sokka asked, referring to me

"Because I work as a Air Nomad Scholar. Before I met Princess Himoko I worked on retrieving old Air Nomad artifacts and scrolls. I was able to teach her at a certain level by just the scrolls." Karlie explained with a small smile

"Aang is going to love you when he hears this!" Sokka stated with a wide grin

"What was your master's name?" Katara asked Karlie

"Master Pakku, one of the best Water Bending Masters there is! He can be a bit of a... Jerk sometimes but he is your best chance at getting Aang the best of the best." She informed her

"Will he also take females to train?" Katara asked and Karlie thought for a moment

"Well... That is a tricky question... The only reason why he took me under his wing is because I stole a lot of the Water Bending Scrolls he had in his office and practiced with them until he finally caught me a week later. You could say I beat him in a duel fair and square." She laughed at the memory, shaking her head. Katara gulped, nervously pulling down her sleeves

"Why do you ask- Oh, you want to learn along with Aang?"

"Yeah. I never got to growing up, only taught myself simple moves being the only bender in the South Pole." Karlie patted her head, her smile returning

"I can lend you some Water Bending Scrolls to practice with, it may even help Aang some."

"Really?!"

"Yes. Really." Katara shot forward and hugged Karlie and I smiled while Sokka rolled his eyes at her. The two huge doors opened and in came Pappy and Aang, both laughing hysterically

"Did you see his face? Priceless!"

"My Cabbages~!" Aang cackled, impressionism the cabbage salesman. I giggled at the sight, knowing that this was how they acted as kids, causing mayhem with fun. Pappy neared me, pulling me into his side before turning dead serious once again

"Aang. I have a favor to ask you."

"What is it, Bumi?" Aang asked with a raised eyebrow

"Take Himoko with you, teach her to air bend, in exchange, she will teach you how to sound bend." I stared up at Pappy in shock, he is sending me away?!

"W-Why?" Aang asked along with Karlie, also shocked at his proposal

"Because I know one day, she will need more than a few simple tricks to save herself, she could use her sound bending only, that may harm her companions more than her enemies."

"Pappy..." I muttered with my eyes watering. He gave me a lopsided grin, kissing the top of my head

"Please Aang. Take her with you." Aang nodded, giving Pappy a weak smile in uncertainty

"Okay. I will." His eyes landed on me and I sighed, shaking my head

"Whatever is best for me I guess."

"Alright! Karlie, please take them to the courtyard, I believe it is about time you see her bend sound with your very eyes!" Karlie nodded before leading us out of the throne room and towards the court yard. Pappy walked beside me, his arm still wrapped around my shoulders

"Pappy, will you be okay while I'm gone?" I asked him quietly just as Momo ran past our feet, chattering away

"Of course. No need to worry about me, everything will be alright." He promised me and I nodded, only my gut told me other wise but ignored the ominous feeling. We entered the courtyard, the sun slowly setting beyond the horizon. I walked out into the middle of the courtyard, Karlie leading Aang over to the table where all of the air bending scrolls were laid out in a matter of neatness. I stopped in the middle, watching as Aang's whole face lightened up like a star in awe of the sight before him, letting his fingers glaze over the scroll's paper. I smiled at the sight, knowing what it felt like to see something from your lost civilization still intact, only mine and Aang's situation were different. While he grew up in an Air Temple, I did not, I grew up with two loving parents on a Air Bison Breeding Farm, surviving on the land instead up in the air. I removed my gaze off of Aang and towards the dong bell, knowing the real use of the instrument. Karlie noticed my gaze and nodded to herself, whispering something in Aang's ear before walking over to it, grabbing hold of the huge drumstick

"You might want to cover you ears~" I heard Pappy cackle from behind me. I took a deep breath, nodding towards Karlie who counted to herself to three, readying myself to bend the sound waves. 'The bigger the sound waves... The stronger the bending.' I thought to myself before Karlie swung with all of her might at the dong, upon impact a radiating sound bounced off around Omashu and miles around the earth. I closed my eyes, feeling the sound waves reverberate through the ground and air, impacting against the bodies standing on the cement slab. With a deep breath, I let out a loud scream, sending the sound waves back towards the dong bell, thrusting my hands forward, furthering the impact creating a dent in the dong. The red circles pointed towards the area where the dent was being formed, feeling my vocal chords tighten at the waves of sound spinning throughout my body. The cement beneath me cracked once I redirected the sound waves towards the ground beneath my feet. My chest burned, my lungs felt like they were heaving to keep myself oxygenated while releasing so much at the same time. I closed my mouth, using the left over sound waves in my body to destroy a straw filled dummy. I stepped to my left, punching my fists towards the dummy, blowing holes into it causing straw to spill out with combustion. I breathed heavily, my chest heaving up and down as I collapsed onto the ground on my bottom, leaning back, putting my weight onto my hands stretched backwards to regain my breath. Karlie walked over to me, uncovering her ears and smiled

"Great job kiddo, that was the most I have ever seen you do in one go." She praised me and I snorted unattractively

"Might... As well put on a... Show." I said in between large intakes of breath. She chuckled, offering her hand to me. I leaned forward, gladly taking it as she pulled me back up onto my feet. She clapped a hand onto my back, obviously proud of me. Aang instantly ran over to me along with Sokka, clearly impressed by my demonstration of bending

"That was so cool!" They both shouted, Aang jumping out of his skin as he began asking me a million questions all at once to the point of becoming inaudible to my ears. I only grinned, knowing not to be afraid of what was to come, after all, this was the first step to a long awaited journey on returning the world to peace and enlightenment. I caught Pappy's emerald green eyes and saw the hope basically radiate off of him. We have hope, even after all that has happened to us. I smiled, remembering a quote my mother taught me when I was young:

'We are the Warriors, We Survived and continue to Fight.'
