I'm sitting on my bed when there's loud knocking on the door. My heart can't help but to beat loudly.
It's obviously Dean. I get up quickly and I'm about to open it but I don't want to open it that quick. So I let him knock a few more times.
"What's up shortstack?" He asks as he enters the room. "Nothing. I was getting ready to sleep." I say as I sit back on my bed.
He lays on across the bed at the end of my feet. "Oh sorry to interrupt." He says. "No it's fine." I answer.
Things have been a little tense since the argument from a couple weeks ago. I haven't brought it up and he hasn't either. I don't want him to bring it up either.
It was pretty dumb to argue over that. "What are your plans for Christmas?" Dean asks, he keeps looking up at the ceiling and not at me.
"I'm going to eat with my family. We get together every year." I answer. "When exactly?" He asks. "Christmas night. Then I usually spend New Years with them too."
"Oh so are you doing something the 23rd or 24th?" I raise my eyebrows, "Why so much mystery?" All these questions are making me a bit curious.
"Just answer twit." He chuckles. "Okay well no. Not really. I was planning on leaving on Christmas Eve night."
"Would you like to come eat dinner with my family?" He asks causally. "Huh?" I ask confused. He looks at me, "You heard me."
"Well..." my voice trails off. "We pretty much celebrate Christmas Eve night. I'm leaving the 23rd. I got plane tickets. I'll also buy you one so you can fly on Christmas Day to spend it with your family."
I don't reply and he suddenly turns serious. "You don't want to come? I mean that's fine. I won't force you to."
"No it's not that. I just didn't expect it." I answer surprised. I truly didn't expect it. "I'm full of surprises." He smiles.
"I see." I answer smiling back. "So yes?" He asks raising his eyebrows. "Okay." I answer. "Yes! Good because I had already bought the tickets for us."
"Why do you want to bring me along?" The question had been in my mind since he asked. "Well you see my family and I get together every year too. My mom would also freak out if I didn't bring my girlfriend along."
"Oh so your family knows about us?" He laughs sitting up. "Who doesn't know about us? My parents saw us on tv and pretty much everyone knows."
"That's a lot of pressure." I say feeling my chest tighten. "What? Why?" He scoots closer to me. "What if they don't like me?"
"They'll love you." He says. I look at him who is now sitting beside me. "How do you know huh?"
"Because I do." I look at him confused as my stomach twists and turns. "I mean I do know they'll love you because you're sweet." He adds. He must've seen my face.
I feel my face redden and I look away trying to cool off. "Alright umm well okay." I reply. He gets up from the bed. "Well I'll let you sleep. Sorry for keeping you up."
"No it's fine." I answer. He walks to the door and turns to look at me. "Looking forward to it pookie."

"Are you sure you want your family to meet me?" I ask as we go through a ton of people. "Of course." Dean answers. He's walking ahead of me with our bags.
"My parents said they were going to pick us up here." He says as he's looking around. There's so many people at the airport. It's definitely busy. People are flying everywhere to meet with their family for the holidays.
"There they are!" He says excitedly. I have a mini panic attack. It suddenly feels like there's not enough air to breathe.
Meeting Dean's parents is a huge deal. It just feels like it's something actual couples do. Even though we're faking it I don't want to cause a bad impression.
I take a deep breath and try to push my nerves aside. A smiling lady and a tall man are grinning as Dean approaches them.
He hugs them and I stand behind trying to think of what to say. What should I say? Hello? No. Hey? No too casual. Howdy! ... definitely not.
I suddenly realize the three of them are looking at me. "Huh?" I say without thinking. "She's quite nervous about meeting you guys." Dean says wrapping his arm around me.
"Sorry. Hello." I bite the inside of my cheek. "Hey! It's so nice to finally meet you!" The lady says as she hugs me.
I hug her back smiling. "You're the young lady that has Dean head over heels?" The man says with a smile.
"Dad." Dean says and his dad chuckles. "Nice to meet you." He greets me with a hug too. After we pull away Dean's dad helps him with our stuff.
Deans mom grabs my arm as we walk through the moving crowd. She starts talking to me like we've known each other for years.
I smile at her and try to answer without sounding stupid. "You know I thought you'd look different."
"Different?" I ask as I look at her. "Yeah. Dean mentioned a while ago that your hair was dyed."
"Well I did dye my hair once. It was light brown but I decided to go back to my natural color."
"No, no, he said it was pink? Red? Something like that." I nod my head as I look at the floor. "Oh gosh! I'm sorry. Sorry. He wasn't talking about you was he? I'm so sorry honey. I just thought..."
Her voice trials off as she looks at me in an apologetic way. "It's fine." I answer clearing my throat.
I look ahead at Dean who's laughing and talking to his dad. I have no doubt his mom was talking about Sasha.
