I surprisingly slept good last night. My Friday has been going pretty well believe it or not. Today the hallways seem less crowded than usual. I have ten minutes to get to my next class. Which is longer than usual. So I decide to stop by my locker to switch out my notebooks for my last few classes. I'm that type of person to walk around school with my arms full of books and paper but since I'm having a good day with extra time, I decide to switch up.
After I twist in my locker combination. My locker door swings open. The mirror on my locker door then reflects a person behind me with a bright smile. She startled me at first but I quickly pull myself together trying to make it unnoticeable.
"Did I scare you?" Hillary says trying to hold back her little laugh."Noo, u didn't scare me at all. It's just so normal to stand behind people creepy like, while they're trying to get their things from their locker." I say sarcastically but not rude.
"So.. you didn't change your mind about that party tonight right? Your still coming?"
" yeah, of course I am."
"Great! Because I was wondering if you would like me to pick you up. You know, so we can get ready together or hang out before."
"Sure. I just need to let my mom know that I'll be catching a ride with a friend for tonight."
This is all new to me. I'm not really used to going out to parties and making a new friend so quick. Maybe Hillary is right. I should be more outgoing. I should lighten up and be happier. Which reminds me of what my mom said last night. About how she missed seeing me happy and my normal self. Not closed off and quiet. I know it worries her sometimes but I think it's best. I will just stick to the trusting few people and not letting people get the most of me. After all not doing that is what got me in the situation I was in back in Florida. But let's not get off topic and into detail about that. It's been so long since I have had a real social life but I'm in a new place now and it's time for me to open up again. Try again.
"Awesome! Well I gotta go. The bell will be ringing any minute now. Oh yea and here is my number."
She then writes her number down on a little sticky note. So I do the same and stick it on her notebook.
"I'll text you or call you later on. See yah."Hillary says with a friendly smile before walking off and greeting her other friends as they walk by.
I'm glad I met Hillary. One friend so far. Maybe that's all I need. I hear the loud bell ring right in my ear, so then I slam my locker closed. I grab ahold of my notebooks with a good grip before walking off. Someone bumps into me causing me to lose my balance a little and fall. Then a long arm catches me and pulls me back up onto my feet."Thanks." I say, without paying attention to who it is at first but then look up shocked at who I see standing right in from of me.
"It's okay, my bad for knocking you off your feet there." Daniel says with a small friendly grin.
"You seem much more nice than you little friend Lucas." I say trying to gather myself together.
"Yep, well that's just him. So uhm..you seem cool. You heard about the party that's going down tonight? Are you coming?"
"Yeah, I've heard and I'm going."
"Well since your going, It seems like your little friend with the curly hair would be going too, huh?"
"Hillary? Yeah, she is. Why?" I ask as we continue to walk down the now empty halls.
"No reason just asking. You know I've seen her around and she's pretty. So I'm guessing you're new here because I've never seen her hang around with you before, so.." Daniel says, looking up and around awkwardly.
"Yeah, I am. Hillary is cool, sweet, and really bold for sure."
"That's good to know." He says smiling. I have a feeling I already know what's going on. I think he has a little think for Hillary but I don't bother to mention it.
"Well here is my class and I'm already late so I guess I'll just see you around or later at the party, most likely."
"Alright then, see around." He says before we both turn around slowly to go out different ways.

I'm finally home. As soon as I open the door I drop my things and close the door behind me. I walk straight to the kitchen to open the refrigerator. I pull out the Alfredo pasta that I didn't get a chance to eat yesterday. I barely ate all day so I put it in the microwave to warm it up so I can eat.
After I'm done stuffing my face I make my way to my room to find something to wear for the party. I open my double doors to my closet to see my wardrobe is not party material.
Wow this is going to be a long afternoon.
