I walk into school half awake because I stayed awake just about all night thinking about Hillary, and last nights dinner with Lucas. I try walking with my head down so no one will notice me but I ended up seeing her, Hillary. She stands there looking at me with a glare with two other girls I have never seen before.

I couldn't tell if she was sad, disappointed or just better off without me carrying on with her conversation. Everything felt like it was in slow motion. Until we finally broke eye contact.

I reach my locker grab my things and walk towards my math class and quickly find my seat. I wait patiently until mrs. Sylvester is done talking to her husband coach Sylvester. The bell rings then everyone finally enters and takes their seat.

"Alright class we are going to kick off this morning with a quiz and then we move on to review for our test." Mrs.Sylvester says with a stack of papers in her hands.

I did not study at all. I didn't even know we had a quiz today. I hope those study sessions paid off at least a little. At least I know I'm not the only one, my classmates start to mumble and whisper to each other and then the sound grew more and more.

"Class settle down many of you I see have forgot about the quiz but I know you haven't forgotten about the formal dance...it's time to get those priorities straight." She says, causing everyone to roll their eyes.

I can barely focus on my quiz. It's been twenty minutes already and I only have ten minutes left. I decide to just bubble in the ones I know and then guess. I feel like I have used the same letter too many times so I just erase a few and bubble in the rest A and B.
I hurry and turn it in just to get it over with.

The bell rings for lunch. I'm happy because I will see Lucas and talk to him but then I will see Hillary and I know it won't go well. This is my first lunch with out her.

I see Lucas walking my way with a smile and puts his arm around my shoulder and kiss on my cheek and I can't help but smile.

"Hey, I missed you. You look exhausted." He says.

" I know that's because I barely slept and I'm kind of stress because me and Hillary still aren't on good terms right now and I'm pretty sure I just failed my quiz." I rush and say all in one breathe.

We then stop and he stand right in from of me, looking me in the eyes and grabs both of my hands.

"Look everything will be fine, okay? Just keep studying for your class, try to get more sleep and like I said Hillary will come around. You both will eventually talk things out and be friends again like I know you guess are."

"Yeah sure if you think so but thanks for the advice anyway." I reply.

He puts on a smile to make me feel better and I smile back. We walk into the cafeteria and spot Hillary and Daniel sitting at a table by themselves showing their public display of affection.

Lucas guides me to the table. I try to pull away from the grip of his hand but it's too late.

"You know what Daniel I think we should find somewhere else to sit." Hillary stands as she glares at me and tries to only acknowledge Lucas.

"Just because you and NaSia are not talking right now doesn't mean I can't hang out with my friend." Daniel says back.

"Well I'm leaving see you later babe." She says kissing his cheek then walking away.

Lucas and I then welcome ourselves to sit.

"Daniel I need your help. Can you tutor me after school today?" I ask.

   "No sorry I can't."

"What?! Why?"

"Because I stand by my girl and I'm not going to help her enemy. I do not want to be on her bad side."

"Come on Daniel don't be like that. She really needs your help. Trust me if I could tutor her I would but I'm not good and tutoring like you, or a teacher." Lucas adds.

"I'm pretty sure if Hillary asked you for help now you would do the same thing I'm doing, am I wrong? Hey! What about an actual teacher after school?" Daniel replies.

"Trust me I still won't understand the work." I say back kind of stressed.

"Alright, just give the teacher a try after school but for right now lets change the subject." Lucas says, to ease the tension.

"Are you both going to the formal?" Daniel asks.

"Are we?" I look at him.

"Yeah. I mean why not." He says and shrugs.

"Well you got your answer. What about you?" I asks Daniel.

" yeah, that's the plan but my cousin is coming a bit early and he wants to go to get the whole vibe of the school but I don't want him to be third wheeling with me and Hillary." Daniel says.

"We'll try not to make him feel like a third wheeler plus there is too much going on at the formal to just hang around us the whole time." Lucas says, putting his arm around my waist.
