HARRY
Harry loved with all his heart. His soft heart and gentle soul made him get hurt often. Every boyfriend he had ever had used the generosity within him. For some, it would make them cold and closed-off, protective of their heart. Not Harry.
Not even when Evan stole all the money from his savings account. Not even when Rick totaled Harry's brand new car. Not even when Nathan used him to pay off his school debt. Not even when Chris used Harry to make another guy jealous. And, not even when Harry bottomed for the first time with Ben and he got dumped the next day.
He couldn't close that part off and he didn't want to. It was the part of himself that made him feel different from the crowd. He just loved everyone as much as he could because that's how he felt everyone should be treated.
He also loved children, he did so much that he went to school and got a degree in child development. He couldn't wait to have his own children, one day. But for now, working at the daycare was just enough.
When Harry met Louis, he felt a pull within him. Like a magnet. He couldn't stop thinking about him. It was nothing Harry had felt before. He wanted to know him. After their talk Thursday morning before Christmas, he didn't see Louis and Harry didn't go up to see him. It was mid-January now.
Isabella was probably back in for school now, and he missed her. She was a character, pure sunshine whenever she walked into the room. Harry felt like he made a bond with that little girl in the five days she was here.
Perrie, Harry's best friend beside Zayn, came down to the daycare at her lunchtime. Harry found out that they shared a desk sitting area. Harry never visited her up there, he didn't know that. He just thought they worked for the same company before. Perrie and Louis had become friends it seemed. Harry liked that. Maybe he could get close again if Perrie was there.
"Hey kiddo," Perrie murmured softly, entering the daycare. Zayn was currently doing story-time and Harry was clearing the tables off from lunch.
"I'm only six months younger than you, Pezza," Harry murmured back.
"Yeah, yeah. Why don't you join me for lunch today?" she asked with a kind smile. Lunch with her was lunch with Louis. He couldn't let that opportunity slip by.
"Sure, I won't be able to stay too long. Can't leave Zayn solo," Harry told her before signaling to Zayn that he was going upstairs. Zayn gave him a thumbs up and continued reading.
Harry grabbed his lunch, that was a simple chicken caesar salad, and headed up with Perrie. They walked into the business and Harry instantly felt that magnetic pull before he even saw Louis. But when he did, he felt those emotions all over again. The unexplained attraction. Heart racing. He was just simply typing at his desk computer, dressed in khaki pants and a white button-up shirt.
Perrie walked up to his desk and said, "Brought a guest for lunch, hope you don't mind."
She didn't tell him? Harry thought. Louis glanced up, his blue eyes piercing. They were the clearest blue eyes he had ever seen. He felt like he could fall in and drown in them. Those eyes widened at the sight of Harry and nodded, replying, "No problem. Nice to see you again, Harry."
"You too, Louis," Harry replied, giving him a smile. Louis finished whatever he was doing and they walked into the kitchen-break room area. Harry watched attentively as Louis went to the fridge and pulled out his lunch bag. He sat across from Harry, tucking himself into the corner of the wall behind him.
Harry opened his salad and started eating. He kept his eyes down as Louis asked Perrie, "How's Andrew doing?"
"He's doing good, just got over his stomach flu," Perrie answered, Harry looked over at her and she smiled at him. Harry knew about Andrew's flu. Perrie missed work the last week because of it. Poor boy was vomiting for four days late.
"That's good," Louis said, Harry looking over at him to see him smile.
"How's Isabella?" asked Harry.
"She's great. You turned her onto reading, she's obsessed now," Louis answered, smiling small.
"What did you do for the holidays, Haz?" Perrie asked.
"Just went up to Cheshire to see my mum and sister," Harry replied, knowing that they had already spoken about this.
"You're from Cheshire?" Louis asked.
"Mhm," Harry nodded.
"I lived there for a small amount of time," added Louis.
"Really? When?"
"Hm... I was probably thirteen," Louis said after a moment of thought. "I was only there for less than three months."
"Wow," Harry said, crazy to think Louis and him lived in the same city at one time. "Where did you live beforehand?"
"Oh, I've lived all over England. My mom couldn't stay still for long. I've even lived in Dublin and Edinburgh," Louis told, smiling sadly. "Then I lived in Wolverhampton from when I was fifteen to about seven months ago."
"What made you come here?" Perrie questioned.
"I... I finished up Uni and wanted to come somewhere new. It was just gonna be Isabella and myself, but last minute my best friend joined us," Louis said, smiling.
Harry finished up his salad, just watched as Louis and Perrie interacted. Louis was a lot more open with Perrie, a lot more comfortable. So, he just listened. He learned that he went up to Wolverhampton for Christmas. He watched how Louis lit up whenever Isabella was brought up. He loved her a lot.
He also lit up at the subject of his best friend and his family. Harry wondered why Louis wasn't close to his own family. But, he figured that he would learn that if they ever got close.
He wondered where Isabella's other father was. Or maybe Louis was straight and the mother wasn't around. But from the way Perrie had talked about Louis made him think that he was gay. Harry realized that he went over his break time.
"Well," Harry said, gathering his garbage, "I have to head back down to give Zayn his break time. I'll talk to you later, Pez, and hopefully I'll see you more, Louis."
"Uh, sure," Louis said. "Bye Harry."
"Bye guys," Harry said, leaving the break room. He went downstairs and saw that it was art time and the children were coloring and talking amongst themselves. Zayn was standing in the corner, eating a sandwich. Harry came up to him and said, "I'm sorry."
"It's alright," Zayn said, mouth full. "How was it?"
"It was fine," Harry answered. "I like him."
Zayn threw his head back and laughed before saying, "I know you do. You've only been talking about him since you've met him."
"I haven't," Harry said, rolling his eyes.
"Just ask him out," Zayn said.
"Should I?" Harry asked, a smile coming over his face.
"Why not?"
"I think I will." And, Harry was going to.
