The Final Fight : the Haunted

Ch.34-outbreak

Drakes POV

We had snuck around some people and down a hallway. I wasn't sure where Austin was taking us. He lead us to a room and closed the door behind us. Once the room was lit with torches I could see maps and books all over the room. Grayson just stared in amazement.

"So many maps!" He looked at me and I smiled. It was nice to see him happy about something for once. Austin had opened a draw in a cabinet and pulled out maps. They had a rocky terrain on it surrounded by mountains. They were labeled unknown. He set them up on a table and you could see two missing pieces. Grayson pulled out his maps and looked down at them.

"No....no way! Please tell me that these are what I think it is!" He placed the maps down and what do you know, they finished the puzzle.
"The Draco hatchery maps. The empire has them the whole time!" I asked partially excited and partially worried.

"Yes but no one knew what they went to until now. I saw the maps you had and it looked like the maps here." Austin seemed proud of himself now as if he was the one who completed the maps. "Come on we need to go. Take the maps and let's go meet up with your friends." We left the map room and Grayson seemed disappointed that he couldn't look at the other maps. We had turns down a hallway when suddenly three guards spotted us. "Run!" Sprinting down the hallway we ran towards the library to get the others.

"Mia! Armen! We need to go now!" I shouted hoping they heard me. We stopped and saw the four of them running out of the library . The hallways was a dead end. Two big windows stood in front of us. Austin made the crazy decision to jump. We were about two stories up. This was going to hurt. I ran breaking a window. Glass shards flew everywhere cutting my arm a few times. I got in position to hit the ground and felt my legs burn from the height.
"Ow!" I winced at the pain. "Come on shake it off" I said while getting up. Mia was beside me and she looked dizzy. I grabbed her arm outing it over my shoulder trying to support her as we ran. "I'm ok. I'm ok..." She trailed off still looking dazed. Letting go of me she ran.
"We need to lose them or hey will get us!" Armen panted behind me.
"I know! We lose them in the streets ok!" Austin pointed to narrow streets in front of us. In the cover of night we lost the guards and sprinted to the front gates. They were peon as a group of horses were coming through. Slipping past them the forest lay ahead providing cover and a possible escape.

Time skip

Armens POV

We ran for what seemed like forever. My feet felt like they were on fire. They finally stopped. I was out of breath and tired. It was dark and I couldn't see much. Grayson grabbed some wood out of his backpack and made a small fire. I pulled my hair out of my face and looked at Drake who was also exhausted. No one said anything. Grayson started laughing breaking the silence.

"What's so funny?" Mia asked, annoyance lining her voice.

"Oh I don't know. Just that they are so stupid because there were about five times where they could have easily got us. And-" he was cut off.

"Yea and be glad they didn't. They would have probably killed you and Drake and once they recognized Armen he would have been killed instantly also. I don't find it funny." She snapped definitely annoyed. "No Mia we found the maps to the hatchery!" He pulled out a bunch of maps."you did!?" She seemed excited now.

"Cool! We also found things. They had books about dragons and the egg. They also had books about that we could use later. I have about 2 in my bag." I chimed in excited that we all found things. Mia pulled 3 out of her bag. She handed one to me and have two to Grayson. I read the title and knew why she gave it to me I put in with the rest. "What was that?" Drake looked at me curious. "We'll talk about it later." "Ok then..."
