Chapter Three
I woke up to the blaring sound coming from my phone next to me. I fought to open my eyes. The lit-up phone screen read 8:00 AM. Ugh. I groaned remembering I had only slept for a minimal amount of about 6 hours last night. I got into bed at around midnight and I couldn't sleep for what seemed like hours, endless twisting and turning. I kept thinking about him, about Adam. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get my mind off him. I can’t believe it; he is a totally complete stranger to me, yet I can’t stop thinking about him. He is the stranger who crashed into my car.
I rolled out of bed and decided to get ready. I had no idea what I was going to do today without a car. I was hoping that my car would be fixed by the end of today, if not at least tomorrow morning. Adam had promised me that he would drive me to the auto shop to pick up my car, which was another strangely nice deed he was doing for me.
I after brushing my teeth and combing my hair, I opened my luggage to pick out some clothes. I picked out a large, white knit sweater along with a gray scarf and a maroon beanie. I grabbed a random pair of dark washed jeans and my combat boots. As if on clue, I heard a knock on the wooden door. I unlocked it and proceeded to open it, knowing who it is already.
“Morning.” Adam smiled, leaning against the frame of the door.
“Good morning.” I replied back. I headed back into my room to get my bag and took the room key. I walked back to where Adam was waiting at the door. I closed the door and followed him down the hallway of the hotel. He was walking ahead of me and I took the opportunity to admire him. He was wearing a black button up shirt, denim jeans and a Los Angeles hat.
“Like what you’re seeing?” He asked smirking as he turned around when we were waiting for the elevator.
I immediately blushed at what he said. Had he noticed me the entire time? That’s really embarrassing. He chuckled as we headed into the lift.
“Where are we going?” I broke the silence in the elevator. “They didn’t call me to tell me that the car was ready yet.”
“I know.” He answered. “We’re going to get breakfast.”
We? Did he just say ‘we’? We never had planned on doing this, but I guess I have to. After all, I do need to eat something. My stomach growled as if on cue. I heard Adam chuckle next to me. I blushed again. Embarrassing myself. Great.
As the elevator opened, I immediately notice the crowd of paparazzi with camera flashing in our direction as we made our way towards the glass doors. So was I right? Is Adam the super familiar person I’ve seen somewhere but can’t seem to figure out where? For sure now, I know he’s a celebrity. I mean why wouldn’t he be a celebrity, he obviously has the looks for it.
I followed closely behind Adam and when we walked through the glass doors, the paparazzi were bombarding Adam with questions, but he chose to ignore all of them. To my surprise, they all moved aside when we were walking towards the street. Soon, Adam’s Porsche was in sight, parked by the curb and doors opened by valet parkers.
