Chapter Eight
Last night was amazing. After the whole confession thing, everything lightened up around us. Everything in that moment seemed unstoppable. If I remembered correctly, Adam had asked me to cuddle up with him on the patio chair, or was it a dream? No. I’m pretty sure it was real. The feelings were undeniable. We were lost in that moment. No words were spoken as we lay in comfortable, calming silence thinking about whatever came in our minds. No noise, but the sound of New York traffic at midnight. From then on, my eyes started getting heavier and heavier and soon I fell asleep soundly on Adam’s chest while feeling its steady rise with each and every breath.

I wake up to the smell of breakfast coming from beyond my bedroom door. The strong aroma motivated me to get out of bed. I somehow got from Adam’s balcony to my bedroom. It was like the feeling of when you were little and you’d fall asleep on the couch and miraculously wake up in your own bed. I probably either walked back into my own room or he carried me here. All I hoped for was that I had not embarrassed myself with any sleep-talking.
I got out of bed and quickly brushed my teeth and put my hair into a messy bun because it was tangled and I was too excited to go eat that I didn’t bother brushing it. I walked into the living room and looked over at the small dining table beside the kitchen. I notice that the table was filled with at least ten plates of food and a various amount of drink choices.
Adam was sitting on one end of it checking his phone while eating some waffles. He looked up once I had gotten closer.
“Good morning.” I said with a smile. I wasn’t much of a morning person, but everything seemed so appealing it woke me up.
“Morning. I order room service and I wasn’t sure what you wanted, so I got some of everything.” He grinned sheepishly, looking slightly guilty.
I couldn’t help but laugh a little. It was really considerate of him to think of that. “That’s very thoughtful of you. Thank you.” I said as I took a seat on the table and started eating.
Everything was so delicious and juicy. It was nothing like what I had back home. This is like fancy compared to my daily breakfast. There were at least five different types of drinks. I was somewhat a little overwhelmed.
After breakfast, I picked out some clothes to change into since Adam had reminded me that we were going to go somewhere. I didn’t exactly know where we were going, so I picked out something nice and comfy. I ended up wearing a white tank top with a plaid shirt and some denim shorts. I grabbed a purse and stuffed whatever I needed in there and headed out.
Adam and I got into my car before the paparazzi found us and quickly drove off. He hasn’t told me anything about where we were going but I didn’t dare to ask him. I think it was suppose to be a surprise.
We were stuck in traffic for approximately half an hour. We would've arrive quicker if it wasn’t for morning traffic. We turned into a multi-story parking garage in a small street. Nothing seemed familiar; I still have no idea where we were going.
Adam opened the door for me and I got out, briefly thanking him. I followed closely behind him. As we headed into an entrance to the building, I read a sign that said, ‘Octone Recording Studio’. I immediately assumed that we were here for the band. I think he had mentioned something about recording for a few days in New York.
That means that I am about to meet up with the rest of the guys of Maroon 5. I am really nervous. What would I say to them? How would I start a conversation? And how I would I even introduce myself? Was I Adam’s friend, would I even qualify to be called a ‘friend’?
