chapter 10: goal

marcus pov//

i was happy for martinus. i know how much he liked j and i know she liked him. i'm not gonna lie i was a little bit jealous.

as the past few days went by the more i saw them together the more i started to like j myself. i also saw how much time martinus spent with her during school.

i mean she is with me too it's just he talks more to her and at home it's always talking about her but i guess it's whatever. maybe it's just in my head.

martinus-"marcus you ready?"

marcus-"yes let's go."

we had a football match today. it's so cold out and we have to play which is kind of annoying but i'm excited. i know it will be fun.

i think j was coming to the game. i'm not sure.

marcus-"is j coming?"

martinus-"yea i invited her. is that okay?"

marcus-"of course."

it's not that i didn't want her there but she would make me nervous.

we both got in the car and drove to the field. when we got there warm ups were about to begin. we got our stuff down and started to warm up.

about halfway through i could see j and a bunch of people start to come. it made me more nervous when more people were coming.

we are against one of our rival schools so this game is important. the whistle was blown and we were about to start. my heart was racing. let's hope i do well.

i sat down. it was pretty cold. good thing i brought a jacket. there were other people from the school here, some i recognized and parents were here too.

i was wrapped around trying to keep myself warm. i wish tinus was here so i can give him a hug, he always knows how to warm me up.

i was smiling just thinking about him. the whistle was blown and the game started. tinus looked over at me and winked.

i smiled. i saw mac and waved. he seemed to be nervous. i know they will do well. all players got on the field and went in their positions. this was pretty exciting actually.

i was watching both of the twins very carefully. they both were so good. man i hope to be as good as them soon. maybe i could even beat them.

a couple times marcus got the ball but he seemed distracted and it got away fast from him. then martinus had some really good assists and almost scored!

wow the adrenaline i was starting to feel and i wasn't even in the game. everyone in the crowd was getting really excited too.

it was the final quarter. the game was tied. martinus had the ball and he was dribbling down the field. he passed the ball and then it was given back.

two people were pushing in tight on defense and he needed to pass or else he would lose it. he quickly passed it off and marcus got it.

he was in the corner and he kicked in. it went in with the last few seconds. marcus scored the game winning goal!

everyone went crazy and was screaming for him. i couldn't be more happy. his entire time rushed over to him.
