chapter 11: butterflies

marcus pov//

i woke up and i was exhausted from night before. i was going to go downstairs as i was but i realized j was here so i should put on some clothes.

when i went downstairs i saw martinus eating breakfast. where was j? i went and got some pancakes that were on the table.

martinus-"hey marcus."

marcus-"morning martinus."

martinus-"so we have practice today and that history quiz."

marcus-"ugh that's right."

martinus-"alright ready to go?"

marcus-"uh yea."

i put my plate in the sink. j still wasn't down here. i guess she isn't coming.

marcus-"is j not coming."

martinus-"oh no she is upstairs. she wasn't feeling well."

marcus-"oh okay."

not that i want j to be sick but i'm glad i have martinus to myself today. we need some one on one brother time. it will be good for us.

a smile came across my face. me and martinus together again. don't get me wrong j is awesome but sometimes i just want martinus to myself.

we've been together our whole lives. you think we would get sick of each other but i couldn't get sick of him and i hope he doesn't get sick of me.

we were kicking a soccer ball on the way to school and laughing the whole way there. man it felt good to be just us.

the whole day was awesome! we were joking the entire day and goofing off in class. i thought the teachers were gonna bust us.

we were in lunch now and sitting with the rest of the crew. martinus was on his phone most of the time. probably texting j to see how she is.

at first i didn't mind but he just kept looking at his phone and hardly kept in the conversation.

his phone went off again. when he went to check it i grabbed it quickly and stuffed it in my pocket.

martinus-"what was that for?"

marcus-"you've been on it non stop. you haven't been talking."

martinus-"marcus chill out. i'm just texting-"

marcus-"yea j i know."

i said it annoyed. i rolled me eyes and just kept eating. martinus gave me a look.

martinus-"what's your deal marcus?"

marcus-"you want to know my deal martinus? my deal is that ever since you starting dating j you haven't been hanging out with me."

martinus-"i'm sorry marcus. i didn't realize. i guess i have been spending a lot of time with j."

marcus-"it's okay. i just miss you that's all."

martinus-"when we get home it will be just you and me. i promise."

i smiled. that made me feel better. the bell rang and it was time to go back. we gave each other a hug before we left. let's just hope things go back to normal around here.

j pov//

it was pretty boring without the boys. i didn't like to be on my own but they had to go to school. i surely didn't want to stay at there house so i'm back at mine.

i was still feeling pretty sick though. i have just been watching movies all day and on my phone. i was on instagram when my mom started to call.

i was a little nervous to answer. what was she going to say?

j-"hi mom."

mom-"j! honey how are you?"

j-"i'm fine. i'm just home sick that's all."

mom-"oh no. i can hear it in your voice."

j-"yea"

mom-"how are the boys doing?"

j-"they are fine. they are in school."

mom-"thats good. well i was calling to let you know how things were going here."

j-"can i come home yet."

mom-"no. look honey i know moving to norway wasn't the plan and it all happened so fast but you know we just want to keep you safe."

j-"i know."

mom-"good. we are working on it. i promise soon you can come back."

j-"okay."

mom-"i have to go. i love you and dad says he loves you too."

j-"i love-"

she hung up. i sighed. i put the phone down and went back to watching the movie. i looked at my phone and i started to text lena. i knew she would just be getting up. she always knows how to cheer me up.

besides she feels me in on everything thats going on at my old school. almost like i never left. except i did.

my phone pinged and i thought it was lena but it was actually martinus. i opened it. wait shouldn't he be in class? maybe he snuck off to the bathroom.

martinus-"hey j. i hope it's okay but tonight is gonna be a boys night for me and marcus. we need some brother time."

thats so sweet that he wants to check in with me. of course they can have their brother time. its important for them and since I've came marcus maybe has felt a little left out.

j-"of course. you two have fun now."

martinus-"thanks <3"

j-":)"

we texted for a little longer but he eventually had to go back to class. he couldn't stay out forever! its funny. i still get butterflies when i see his name pop up. i guess thats just what he does to me.
