You crawled out of the tiny space and before you could stand up, a massive shadow managed to run right past you and hide in a corner in the dark. You were petrified, afraid to move or make a sound. You could hear movement behind you, meaning Thranduil and Legolas were on their way. You stood up to create some for them, as quietly as you could, keeping your eye on the dark corner.

''What did you see?'' Legolas asked.

''I don't know, the only thing I saw was a shadow.'' You started to whisper.

Thranduil stepped in front of you and walked towards the spot your eyes were fixed upon. He drew his sword and made his way forward. You could hear some grumbling coming from the corner and looked at Legolas. He nodded and you both drew your swords as well. Suddenly, the big shadow moved and attacked. It was a spider, and a big one as well. It had eaten so many orcs and trespassers, the size of the beast did not surprise you. Thranduil charged at it, and it let out a massive screech. It ran towards Legolas and he managed to duck underneath it, getting a clean cut at its stomach. The spider then came for you. You suddenly felt very uncomfortable with your sword, so you loaded your bow with an arrow, and aimed for one of its eight eyes. You shot, but missed it by an inch. You ran out of the way, in the direction of Thraduil, and while he covered you, you got another arrow and took your aim. This time you did shoot it right in the eye! Thranduil charged at it, and with all the things that were going on,you spotted the tunnel where the source of light came from. A way out. Legolas saw this and shouted something in Elvish that you could not understand. Thranduil shouted something back and before you could move yourself, Legolas had already grabbed your hand and ran towards the tunnel.

''Wait! What about your father?''

''He will distract it, don't worry; he'll be fine.'' Legolas reassured you.

You could catch a glimpse of Thranduil swinging his sword at it, and he threw something in the dark caves, causing the spider to run after it. He ran as fast as he could, until he caught up with you and Legolas. You ran as fast as you could, you could hear yourself breathing (very, very loudly) and after a few more minutes of running, you stopped in front of a big structure.

''Take some time to catch your breath, (y/n). This is where I believe Loren is being held.'' Thranduil said.

You looked up to the structure, and just like the mountains of Mordor, it looked very impressive.

Legolas started walking in front of you, leaving you and the King alone.

''(y/n), I want you to know, if anything happens to me in there, I am very proud of what you've done so far. You're very brave for coming on this journey with me and I did not expect a human to make such an impression on me.''

You were speechless for a moment and could not talk other than making this weird sound. You could feel your body heating up, and you felt incredibly honoured.

''Thankyou, my lord.'' You smiled. ''Forgive me, I do not know what to say.''

''You don't have to say anything. I know.'' He said. His eyes lit up, he smiled, and you could not imagine a more beautiful elf in the whole of Middle-Earth.

''Let's find our captain, and after that, we can talk. About us. About what we want.'' Thranduil said.

You thought about how he said 'our' and 'we'. He was serious about this relationship. He was actually interested in being with you. This gave you more confidence and you bowed your head.

''Legolas, did you see anything?'' He said.

''Yes. I saw Loren. He is locked in a chamber, and two guards are making sure he does not get out. He looks like he has been through some tough things.'' Legolas said, with a sad undertone in his voice.

''Then I suggest we get him out as quickly and quietly as we can.'' Thranduil said, marching forward.

We followed him and we found ourselves at a staircase. I could smell the orcs, and it made me want to throw up. There were two orcs who made their way to us, but Legolas had it covered and killed them both with a single arrow. Impressive, you thought.

Thranduil walked up the stairs and killed the two guards. It was an extremely inappropriate thought, but oh my, he looked good like that.

Thranduil looked at you and smirked. Wait, did he.. notice? Did he notice that you were checking him out? Okay. You need to stop. Now. This is not about you or him. This is about Loren.

You walked passed Thranduil and kicked down the door. You saw Loren, beat up and bruised. He had blood spatters on his face and cuts everywhere. You walked up to him and cut the ropes that bound his hands together. He fell into your arms and you got him up on his feet. Legolas supported him as well, carrying him underneath his arms.

It was going to be a long way back, but you were determined to get Loren safe. Even if that meant facing the spider again. We would be able to make it.

Okay. This was a shit chapter and I'm so sorry. I'm not that good in writing battle scenarios and I kind of avoid them at all costs, but this was one I had to write otherwise the story would be extremely dull. Do you guys still like this story? I want to write more, but I feel it's a bit, well, shit. If you feel like leaving a comment please do, if you don't that's okay too. I love you all. Happy Reading!
