After a long journey you made it back to the realm. You had no idea it could feel so good to be back. The familiar smell, the density of the air, the very stones at your feet; it felt like home. Loren was brought to the hospital wing. The healers are the best in the lands and they assured you that Loren was going to be fine. He should be up on his feet within the next couple of days. Thranduil went to see the council for some important matters, and left you with Legolas.
''Where would you like to go? Shall I escort you to your chambers?'' Legolas asked.
You had been worn out because of the lack of sleep, and did feel like you could use some rest.
''That would be wonderful, actually. Thank you, Legolas.'' You said as Legolas held out his arm for you to hook into. You walked through the halls and walked past a unfamiliar door.
''Wait, what is this room? I've never seen it before.''
''Oh, it's the library. Would you like to go in?''
A Library?! How come no-one has ever told you there was a library here? You felt tempted to go in, but you could barely stand anymore and your eyes were slowly closing.
''No, I'll come back to it tomorrow.''
You arrived at your chambers. Legolas held the door open for you, as you practically ran towards your bed and fell down on your belly. Legolas smirked as he closed your doors and you slowly fell asleep.
You wake up the next morning, still slightly dazed, with Lura standing by your side once again.
''I have to say, it is a relief for me to see you again after you went into battle my lady! I heard the stories already and I don't know how you managed.''
Honestly, you didn't either. The spider was the most horrible thing you had ever seen and the fact that you did not have any injuries was a miracle. You did feel some scratches, but no major wounds.
''Let's get you up and cleaned. I think you could use some time in the bath.'' Lura said as she helped you up. You were very sore; all of your muscles were protesting against moving. It was as if you had done a very big workout the night before. As you undressed, you could hear Lura screeching from behind you. You almost slipped on the wet bathroom floor because she startled you so much.
''What?! What is it??!'' You said with a panic-like undertone in your voice.
''Your back! There is blood gushing out! Oh, my Lady, this is horrible. We have to get you to the healers, immediately.''
''No, surely it can't be that bad. I would have felt it by now. Just wash off the blood and we will see from there. Just relax, Lura, I'll be fine.'' You said holding onto her hands. You could still see the panic in her eyes, but she obeyed your order. She washed off the blood and made sure the wound was clean.
''It is not as bad as I thought. It is a long cut, but it is healing on its own perfectly. No healers needed. As you said, my Lady. I am sorry for panicking.''
''It's fine Lura, really. Thank you for helping me.'' You said smiling.
You stayed in the bath for a few more moments, just enjoying the hot water around your sore body. When you finally got out Lura helped you dry off your back. Bracing yourself for the pain, you grit your teeth, but it was actually fine. There was relatively no pain whatsoever.
''I put some soap in the bath that helps wounds heal faster. It also tends to numb the pain.''
You got dressed in some comfortable robes, and thanked Lura as you made your way to the library. You walked though the halls and ran in to a very familiar and very comforting face.
''My Lady, I have not seen you in so long, how are you feeling?'' The elvenking asked you while resting his big, strong hands on your shoulders.
''I'm okay. Apparently the spider got a few good hits and scratched my back, but I'm fine. Lura made sure my wounds are cared for.''
''I'm glad to hear that you feel okay. It is good that I see you because I wanted to invite you to dinner tonight. It will just be us two.''
You could feel yourself become warmer on the inside. Dinner alone with the king sounds amazing. You could talk to him about everything in private- no one to listen in with your conversation.
''I would be honoured, my King.''
''Where were you headed?''
''Oh, me and Legolas walked past the library yesterday, but I was too tired to go in at the time. I decided to go and have a look now, if that's alright.''
''Ofcourse! The majority of the books are in Elvish, but I thought there were some in the common language as well.'' Thranduil said as he took you by the arm and led you to the library. He opened the doors and before you there was a massive room with books as far as the eye could see; hundreds if not thousands of books were stacked on top of each other, placed onto bookshelves and scattered on the floor. There was a place to sit and read pretty much everywhere you looked and there were some elves reading quietly.
You walked towards the first book you saw and opened it.
''Stay here as long as you want. I will stay here to make sure you are okay.''
''No, please, do not feel obliged to stay with me I ca-''
''Please, my Lady'', Thranduil interrupted you, ''I do not want to leave you, and it is no burden to be in your presence.''
You smiled. He was so sweet. You felt so lucky to be loved by someone with such great power and status.
He stayed with you all day and helped you gather some books. He even read to you in Elvish and you tried to repeat the words he said. He laughed at you a couple of times, the way you said the words was quite funny to him. With every minute you could feel yourself getting more in love with him.
And so did he.
Right! That's another chapter. I keep saying sorry for not uploading so often, but I think you will kind of get that by now. I have no excuse whatsoever to not upload regularly but I guess that's just who I am as a person. I'm sorry, haha. And by the way, I am SO overwhelmed by the support for this story. So many people are reading this, voting and even some comments. It might not seem like much, but for me this is amazing. So thank you! I love you guys. Happy Reading!
