Thranduil paced around the orc and was wondering what to do with it. Tauriel and Legolas were in the room as well. The orc sat on its knees, before the throne. Legolas had the orc by its hair and had a knife to its throat. Thranduil finally broke the silence and started talking.

''Here in the vast ignorance of the world it festers and spreads. A shadow that grows in the dark. A sleepless malice as black as the oncoming wall of night. So it ever was. So will it always be. In time all foul things come forth.'' Thranduil said whilst walking around the orc. He stopped next to you.

''You were tracking the company of 13 dwarves. Why?'' Legolas asked.

''Not thirteen. Not anymore. The young one, the blackhead archer. We stuck him with a Môrgul shaft. Poison's in his blood. He'll be chocking on it soon.'' The orc replied whilst looking at Tauriel. You didn't quite understand why he was speaking directly to Tauriel but you decided to let that thought go for now.

''Answer the question, filth.'' Tauriel spat back at him.

The orc shouted something in a language you never heard before. It made Tauriel take out her blades, so you just guessed it wasn't a compliment.

''I would not antagonize her.'' Legolas said. You smirked at his comment.

''Do you like killing things, orc? Do you like death? Then let me give it to you!'' And when Tauriel said this she charged at the orc, but before she could strike, Thranduil said;

''Tarn! Tauriel, ego! Gwao hi!''

Tauriel looked at the orc and it growled at her. She left with her head held high. When she walked passed you, she gave you a look that said; make sure he pays.

Thranduil continued; ''I do not care about one dead dwarf. Answer the question. You have nothing to fear. Tell us what you know and I will set you free.''

''You had orders to kill them.'' Legolas said. ''Why? And what is Thorin Oakenshield to you?''

The orc answered the question immediately. He seemed more coorperative now that he knew he would be set free. Altough you did doubt this promise by Thranduil. You knew he wasn't known as a very forgiving king. You heard the stories told by the people in your village. Everyone knew something about the Elven King. You always listened to the stories ever since you were a little girl, and was very intrigued by the image your imagination sketched when someone said the name Thranduil. He looked nothing like the picture in your head. He was, in fact, much softer.

''The dwarf runt will never be king.'' The orc said. ''King? There is no king under the mountain nor will there ever be. None would dare enter Erebor whilst the dragon lives.'' Legolas said this with such attitude you almost got scared of him. You didn't know an actual dragon lived under the mountain. You thought they were just stories to make people scared to go there. Apparently it's true. You watched as Thranduil slowly joined Legolas alongside the orc.

''You know nothing. You world will burn.''

''What are you talking about?'' Legolas said. The orc remained silent. ''Speak!'' Legolas shouted.

''Our time has come again. My master serves the one. Do you understand now, Elfling? Death is upon you. The flames of war are upon you! Hahahaha!''

He did not laugh for very long. Thranduil took out his sword and cut his head right off his torso. Legolas was left with just a head that he was holding. He looked disgusted. You didn't blame him, you were disgusted too. A beheading wasn't something you see every day.

''Why did you do that? You promised to set him free.'' Legolas said whilst dropping the creature's head.

''And I did.'' Thranduil said whilst walking towards the body. ''I freed his head from his miserable shoulders.'' At the same time he stepped on his ankle to stop the body from moving. You shivered.

''There was more the orc could tell us.''

''There was nothing more he could tell me.'' The king said as he swung his sword back in its strap and then started walking down the steps, taking your hand.

Legolas stayed behind and asked; ''What did he mean by 'the flames of war '?''

Thranduil started saying in a very concerned manner; ''It means they intend to unleash so great it will destroy all before it. I want the watch doubled at our borders. All roads, all rivers. Nothing moves but I hear of it. No one enters this kingdom, and no one leaves it.''

He walked back to his quarters, still holding your hand. He did not let go until you freed yourself from his grip. He seemed almost offended by this.

''My lady, what's wrong?''

''I have to say I am quite shocked.'' You said, voice trembling.

''Why? Is it what I did to it?''

''No. Quite frankly, I would've done the same. There was no way he was going to say anything. You had to offer him something in order to get information. Orcs are nothing but foul creatures and deserve nothing more than what they do to other creatures.'' You remembered Argigoth and what he did to you father. There was no other creature whom you despised more than Orcs. ''I was shocked to find out a dragon lives. I know nothing but stories about dragons and was sure they were all gone.''

''Yes. A dragon lives. Its name is Smaug. He lives under the lonely mountain, guarding the treasure that lies there. Throin Oakenshield seeks to kill it and reclaim his place as king under the mountain.'' Thranduil said whilst taking off his robe. ''But you have nothing to fear. They won't get far. How are thirteen dwarves going to slay a dragon? That'd be quite

the story.'' He gestured for you to sit down with him on the bed. And so you did. He embraced you.

''You're safe here. With me. I promise I will protect you for as long I shall live.'' He kissed your forehead and hugged you.

You felt safe. You felt protected. There was just this little nagging feeling inside that warned you about that dragon. Smaug.

Whassup guys. I have to say, I got so many great comments on my story, it kind of moved me. I'm so grateful you actually like it! It's getting a little hobbit film-ish, but I do try to give my own twist on it. I hope you like this! I really don't know how long I'm going to make this story, but thanks so much for all the support. Love you guys. Happy reading!
