You woke up with a slight headache. The wine from yesterday evening had presented its aftermath. Then you realized, Thranduil. Oh my god. You slept with him last night.

'What do I do? I can't just jump up and run off, that'd be weird. No, no definitely can't do that. Try to sleep again? Wait for him to move? No, I'm wilde awake. Okay, wait, first check if he's actually in my bed.'

You carefully turned your head only to find the other side of the bed empty. You were sort of relieved, can't imagine how awkward it must've been to wake up next to him after... well, you know.

You got up out of bed and made your way to the bath. It was the night of the New Moon, so all the working elves inside the realm were laid off. To be honest it was nicer doing things on your own. I mean, Lura is amazing, but you can't help but feel like some miserable duckling who is unable to do things without her mother whenever she does things for you.

After you got out you put on a dress that was a bit too big, but it looked alright. You didn't really feel like dressing up as some princess today so you just went with it. No make-up, hair down the way it dried. Then you noticed a letter by the door. You picked it up and read it.

Lady (y/n),

I have tried to inform you a couple of times, but I was unable to get a response. Therefore I will try to deliver the message this way. The King has requested your presence as soon as you are ready. He will meet you in his chambers.

You almost snorted. It was worded beautifully, but it basically meant get your ass over to Thranduil. Asap.

After walking through the halls that have become quite familiar over the past few days you found the doors that you were looking for. You knocked. Once. Twice. You were about to do it the third time when the doors swung open.

''Ah, my lady (y/n). Come in.'' Thranduil said. And he stepped back to let you in.

You walked in, carefully placing your steps because it felt like the floor was made out of glass, with Thranduil's eyes burning into your back.

''I apologize for my early departure this morning, but there was a meeting that I had to attend.''

''It's fine, honestly.'' You smiled.

''I have to say, (y/n), I have had an amazing night, and I wish to thank you.''

''No... problem, I guess?'' You could feel your whole face burning and decided to change the subject. ''What was the meeting about?''

''That's why you are here. I want to talk to you about something that might interest you.'' He gestured for you to sit down, as he took the seat opposite of you.

''I have been informed that the orc whom you fought a couple of days ago, was part of a very large tribe. Now, I never interfere with tribes like these, if it weren't for recent events.'' He paused and took a deep breath. ''The head of the guard has been abducted and I need him back. Are you any good with a bow and arrow?''

You almost choke on your own spit. What the fuck?! He is actually saying you can go with him? Into battle? To attack the tribe? I mean, you've dealt with orcs before but a whole tribe? That's mental. That's crazy, That-

''I'll go with you.''

A few hours later and the army was ready. You watched from the bridge that connected your chambers to the main hall. It gave you a birds eye view over the great hall. There were so many elves. All of them dressed in full-body armour, equipped with bow and arrow, and a sword. You were given a special armour, it was perfectly shaped for your body, and it matched the armour Thranduil wore. You were also given a bow and arrow, and you had your own sword with you. A few moments before you left your chambers, Thranduil had come in.

''I just wanted to give you something.'' He held out a small box. It was deep red and embedded with small gems. You accepted it. It contained a beautiful necklace; a long string with a very tiny stone attached to it. When you put it around your neck, it would fall right next to your heart.

''It is a small gift that I wanted to give you before we left. I know it doesn't seem like a lot, but the meaning behind it is far more valuable then the stone itself.''

''And what is the meaning of it then?'' You asked staring right into his eyes.

He came closer and cupped your face.

''That is something that we have yet to discover, my dear (y/n).'' And he places his lips onto yours. It was a very subtle kiss, but full of love.

And here you are, sat on a horse, next to Thranduil and Legolas. With about a thousand elves behind you. The sound of a horn fills the great hall and you can hear the army shift into a diffrent position, All at the same time. That never fails to impress you. The gates open and Thranduil turns his head to look at you, almost like he is asking you if you're alright. You nod and he gives the signal to his elk to start walking. You soon follow after, with Legolas by your side.

Along with the other elves, you ride into the sunset of Middle-Earth, ready for battle.

Aaaand there you go! I'm sorry this is a long time coming but there have been some recent changes in my life that have had a huge impact on me and I needed some time to process.
