"You don't get to do that" you screamed.

"Do what?" Shawn questioned

" you don't get to tell me you love me, that you want to be with me and then just leave. You can't tell me that you'll love me forever and then fall in love with her so quickly, and get over me even quicker. You're not allowed to replace me like I'm nothing, because I wasn't always nothing to you."

Shawn stood there for a long moment. Collecting his thoughts.

"Your right" he sighed "but sometimes you have to accept what happens in life and move on"

"You don't get it do you" You screamed.

"No I don't please explain" Shawn yelled frustrated.

"Look at me Shawn I'm a mess. Which is probably why I've stayed away from guys like you as long as I have. Guys that have the potential to make me better, to make me actually want to get up in the morning and make a difference in my world. And even though guys like you have the potential to do that you also have to potential to make me even worse. To rip my heart out and stomp on it when you leave. It's guys like you that are the hardest highs to come down from." At this point tears were streaming down your face.

"Don't you go all innocent on me, you've done some messed up things too."

You looked up in Shawn's eyes. There was no remorse in his eyes. That broke you even more.

"You're the one who came into my life and used me like a drug, you just wanted someone new. Someone to distract you from your miserable life."

A tear slipped down Shawn's eye.

"You used me and threw me away" he continued. "Then a week later you would come back to me, I was never someone you loved I was just someone you used and then got addicted to.So no I'm not the one who has the potential to break you, you've already broken yourself and turned to me to fix you up"

You and Shawn made eye contact. You've never seen Shawn so broken. Never seen him worn out because of all the mess you've put him through.

"Your right Shawn, I'm sorry I used you like that but I loved you, I still love you and I'm sorry for you to think I threw you away like some drug."

The door was coming closer. You glanced back praying Shawn would stop you. But he didn't. He just stood there and watched you leave.

He watched the only person whom he would ever fully love walk out the door. And he didn't stop you. He didn't stop you from walking out. He didn't stop you and tell you that you were his drug to. That he still loves you.

He just stood there and watched his addiction leave and never come back.

You didn't believe in goodbyes but there was nothing left to say, so the last word you would ever say to Shawn was "Goodbye"

It not only broke you saying that word and walking out that door but it broke Shawn to.
