A Day in the Park

Chapter 5

Tommorow. What is tomorrow going to hold for me? You walk up to Chloes room and notice that she isn’t there. Where the hell is Chloe! You looked all around the house. She was nowhere to be seen. You even looked in the yard. She wasn’t there either.

You grab your phone and text Liam. “I can’t find Chloe. I looked everywhere.” “I’ll be right over” Liam responds. “I can’t loose her. She is all I have left.” You say. “Everything will be fine. We are going to find her, Kenzie.”

You are not patiently waiting. You can’t sit down or walk, or do much of anything. Liam doesn’t even knock, he just walks in. You notice that there are four other guys behind him. “Who are these people Liam?” You ask curious. “These are the guys. My band mates, Niall, Zyan, Louis, and Harry.” They all say their hellos.

You finally sit down but not for long. You get up thinking about all the places she would have gone. There is the park, the fish pond, and the cemetery. We should split up and look for her. “I have three places that she could have gone to. There is the park were we first met. There is the fish pond that we were to be at today. It’s her favorite place in this town. There is the cemetery where her mother is buried at.” When you say the last the boys look at you with a look of sadness in the eyes. I guess Liam didn’t tell them anything about me and Chloe, you thought. You give each of the boys a picture of Chloe.

You tell Liam to go with the guys and split up. “First go to the Police Station and say that I sent you. They know who I am. Tell them that Chloe has gone missing. And give them a picture. I’ll stay here just in case she comes back.” Liam just stands there. He slowly walks over to you and hugs you. He is whispering Okays in your hair. Louis is the one that pulls him off of me to go look for Chloe.

While you are waiting you start thinking about everything that could happen to her. You didn’t want anything to happen to her what had happen to you. You wouldn’t be able to live with yourself if something like that happened. Then with thinking that something pops into your head. It was the one place that you knew Kayla took Chloe every time she had a bad dream. It was behind the park in the wooded area. No one went in there. There were little rocks in a row with a stream that comes down. It was peaceful and beautiful.

It was that place that was all Kayla’s and yours. You discovered it when you were little and first moved into this town at the age of ten. No one knew about it. At least that is how you felt. You called Liam up to get him to come back there. Once he arrived the boys were with him as well. You looked at them and ask everyone to come along. This place is big and you needed all the help you could get. You drove to the place with the other boys in their car. Liam is holding your hand the whole time to keep you calm.  You get out of the car and start running, not waiting for the guys to follow you, to where you and your sister would sleep at times. You knew the guys were right behind you; you could feel them running after you not knowing this place. Once where you are running to you found your little girl right there lying on the ground in a fetal position fast asleep. You motioned for Liam to come over to you and pick her up. You told him to be careful because of the water.

You guys slowly start to move to the car. You hear Chloe slowly wake up. “Liam?” She says knowing that it wasn’t me holding her. “I’m right here darling” you hear Liam say in a whisper. You get to your car and get Chloe buckled up.

“Thank you so much guys” You say looking at each and every one of the guys. You didn’t get a good look at the guys until now. You noticed that each and every one of them was good looking. But your eyes settled on Liam. Your heart started to beat a little faster when he reached for your hand. “It was our pleasure.” You hear the boys say in their own form. “Do you want to come back for coffee, tea, food?” You ask them. Each one of them said yes in unison.

You head back to your house with Liam in your car and the boys in theirs. You looked back at Chloe every few seconds like you were afraid that she was about to run off again. She was fast asleep with her head on the door. You can feel Liams eyes on you. You look over at him and he has a sad smile on his face. “What?” you question. “I got some bad news Kenzie.” He softly says. I have a question mark on my face. “The management tells me we can’t be together. They don’t want to have people getting the wrong idea about us and Chloe.” He says in a softer voice than before. “But, but, but” is all you can get out.

At this point you are parked in front of your house. You get out of the car and goes to the other side to pick up Chloe. Liam stops you and gets her out instead. You all head inside for food and drinks. Before anything happens, you point Liam to Chloe’s bedroom. Liam goes and puts Chloe in her room. After he does that he runs downstairs like I little kid in a toy store. “Chloe’s room is brilliant, Kenzie!” “Thanks Liam.” All the boys are wondering what Liam is talking about so you slowly head to Chloe’s room and opens the door. They notice her room and they all gasp. At this point you are proud of yourself.

On one of the walls was a lego wall. And on the other wall was a drawing wall. You close the door and head back downstairs with the boys at your heels. “Chloe is a special little girl.” You hear one of them say. I love Chloe. I would do anything for her happiness, you thought.

“Who wants what?” You ask the guys. “Food!” Niall says before anything else could happen. You giggle a little at the response. “What kind of food Niall?” You ask. “Anything you have will be great” he conforms. “Ok I’ll do my best. What else do you guys want?” “Tea.” One says another says “coffee.” You go and make coffee and get the kettle ready. “Would you like something now or could you wait?” Niall doesn’t respond. “Did you hear me?” “Yes I am thinking. I would like something now please.” He says. “Will chili be ok Niall?” you ask. “That would be great Kenzie!” says Niall “Chili sounds good.” Everyone else says. You go to your freezer. You take out to pounds of hamburger. You start to defrost it. While waiting for that you ask Liam to get the big pan out of the cupboard, while he does that you get all of your ingredients out of the pantry. You walk back to the stove and put the hamburger in the pan and start cooking it.

You can hear the guys talking behind your back. You don’t say anything because you don’t want them to stop so you are able to hear what they think of you. There were some bad things but a lot of good things as well. Once the hamburger was cooked you put all of your ingredients into the pan and let it cook. You take your seasoning, not really measuring how much you put in it like you have done many times before. “What are you doing Kenzie?” you hear the guys ask. “I’m making my famous chili. Relax, I have done this many times without a failure.” That's when you turn around. Every eye is on you with such wonder. “What are you guys looking at?” you question. With that each and every one of them looks away. Some look at the ground some look at the living room. “Go and watch TV. I’ll call you in when I’m done. Does anyone want cornbread?” They only nod their heads not looking at you when leaving the room. 

You finish up cooking and hear Chloe coming down the stairs. “Pancakes!” You hear her yell for you. “I’m in the kitchen babez.” You yell back. You are done cooking now so you go to take Chloe in your arms and get the guys for their food. “All of you go wash your hands.” You say before they can sit down. You look at Liam and he has a big smile on his face. “You might want to do what she says mates.” Liam says coming to you. He doesn’t even think twice. He takes your face in his and kisses in passionately. Every mouth was open even Chloe’s when you finally pulled away. “Is that your way of washing your hands Liam?” Louis asks with a chuckle. “Yes” He says with a straight face. “Do we all have to wash our hands like that” Zayn asks. “I’m game.” Both Harry and Niall say in unison. You just stare at them with a disgusted look on your face. “Just go wash your hands, mate” Liam says with a chuckle looking at you. They all including Liam leave to wash their hands.

When they come back you have five plates out while you and Chloe have started eating. “Hey now, is that any way to treat a guest?” Niall says with a sad face. “You guys were taking too long.” You say “How do you want your chili? Cornbread on the bottom or off to the side?” They all gave you a look. “You can have it anyway you want, but me and Chloe eat it with the cornbread on the bottom.” “We will try it on the bottom then.” They all say. You pour their food and hand it to them.
