Finally!

It was time to go home.

It did not take me a lot of time to reach home. Soon enough i reached home and thought of going to bed but I just did not feel sleepy. So I grabbed a can of soda and a bag of chips and settled down on my table.

My mom must have cleaned my table for me because I clearly remember that the table was neatly arranged with all my notes and books kept at one side. So with an empty table , a stack of plain paper which I was going to use for my school, and a pen , I decided to start to investigate.

Of course I was not some professional investigator but from the crime solving serials that I have seen countless times, I asked myself,

"What would they do at first?"

"Well , that is easy! Draw a timeline."

And that is one classic example of the conversations that go on my mind all the time.

So with that, I decided to piece a timeline together. With the bits of information that I knew and what David told me, I almost had a complete picture although some pieces were missing.

I decided to call my friend, Luke, the police officer in charge of the case and decided to consult him hoping that he might have the answer to my questions. It didn't take him time before he answered the phone.

"Hey Omar! How are you man? Its been a while eh dude. Tell me, what suddenly reminds you of me?"

I simply replied," I heard you are in charge of the case about the accident on the highway where the person in the car was a guy named David? The name ring any bells?"

His voice changed and it became more serious," Yeah I clearly remember plus we actually ruled it as an accident and closed the file just this morning without any investigations because it looked like it was an accident and was not done intentionally."

I wanted to scream at his face that it was indeed done intentionally but he was not at any fault. I just asked him to reopen the file and scan me a copy of that report. This was against the policy of the police headquarters but he did not hesitate to do it. After all, what are friends for?

With the details that he gave me, I was now able to come up with a proper timeline and that kind of indicated that this was an attempt to murder. I was a master of coming up with radical thought so that did not surprise me.

I still did not rule out the very possibility that all these might just be an accident and that no one meant any harm for him but I was not going to take any chances. If there was really someone who wanted to harm him then the killer might be still out there and it was my responsibility to find out.

You guys must be wondering why didn't I approach the police? Well it was simply because i knew that would not have given me any outcome. I have heard of such cases where the police would investigate for a couple of days and then close down due to lack of evidence and I was not going to let that happen.

By then it was already 12am and for once In the whole day, I could barely hold my eyes open and that is why I just decided to finish the soda I had brought from the kitchen and just go to sleep.

I didn't even open the bag of chips because I suddenly was too tired to even do that. So I just curled up to the softness of my bed and fell asleep.

GONE!

The vacation was gone! It was supposed to be the best vacation I was suppose to have In a long while. But look at the odds, God had something else planned for me. Now all my plans are destroyed because I have to take care of my friend and also find out who did this to him.

Thankfully as said earlier, the police officer that was looking into the case was a friend of mine and I told him to meet me at the hospital as soon as possible because I had to discuss something important with him.

My friend , Luke, was a very nice guy. He was one of my nest buddies I ever had but we had to proceed onto different paths in our lives.

Anyways, He said he was available and that he would meet me at the hospital and when I reached there at around three in the afternoon, he was there, waiting for me. As I approached him, I tried consolidating whatever I was going to ask him.

"Luke, we need to talk..."
