i woke up on my couch, the tv still on and the sun shining through our sheer curtains.

instead of south park, the tv was now playing some cooking show, which i quickly turned off as to not make me hungry.

i glanced around and frowned at the lack of people.

i grabbed my phone to see two new messages.

jayden - hey :) i really enjoying seeing you the other day. hopefully we can catch up even though your mum's back now :P xx

jack - hey babygirl, sorry i skipped out on you but i had an important meeting to get to. i made you some pancakes and they're in the kitchen. thankyou for yesterday xxxx

i smiled giddily.

i didn't deserve him.

yawning, i stood up and stretched. i made my way to the kitchen and smiled at the sight of three golden pancakes, stacked on top of each other neatly on a plate.

i poured some honey on top of them and began to eat.

whilst i was enjoying my food, i heard a key in the lock and i stood up.

i walked out to the hall just in time to see the door open and jayden walking in, carrying my mother's bags.

he saw me and his face lit up. he quickly kissed me, then pulled away and looked back to make sure my mum couldn't see us.

luckily, she was on the phone and distracted.

she stepped into the house, decked out in a white dress and matching jacket.

she smiled at me but didn't say a word as she walked past us and began going upstairs.

"oh, jayden, please bring those up to my room, will you?" she ordered. "and then go take lucas's to his."

"yes ma'am." jayden immediately replied, picking up her bags and following her up the stairs.

i rushed outside to see my brother pulling his bags out of the boot of the limo.

"luke!" i exclaimed, running over and hugging him.

"hey sis! miss me?" he teased, ruffling my already messy hair.

i laughed.

"let me get those, sir." jayden stated, leaning past us to attempt to take luke's bags.

"nah dude, don't sweat. i'll take 'em." luke replied.

"a-are you sure? your mother asked me to-"

"seriously. don't worry man." luke insisted, clapping him on the back before picking up his bags with ease.

"i'll see you later, okay jay?" i leaned forward and quickly pecked his cheek.

he grinned at me as i walked back into my house. i waved as he drove away.

i made my way back to the kitchen to find luke sat, shovelling my pancakes into his mouth.

"hey! my food!" i exclaimed.

i swatted at his shoulder but luke continued to eat.

"sorry little sis." he shrugged. "i'm hungry. and you left them here. fair game."

i rolled my eyes and stomped out of the kitchen.

after slamming my bedroom door shut, i walked over to the window and squealed in shock.

nate was perched in the tree across from my window, and he was grinning at me.

"hey." was all he said before jumping forward and landing on my windowsill.

"what the fuck are you doing?" i hissed, pulling him into my room.

"it's good to see you too." he chuckled. "you haven't been answering my texts. is everything okay?"

i sighed. "everything's fine. i just think... maybe we should stick to being friends."

it was hard enough juggling two guys. i don't exactly need a third in the mix.

he frowned. "oh... okay i guess."

"i'm really sorry. i did have fun." i admitted. "but i'm kinda... seeing someone else right now."

nate's eyes darkened. "oh."

"i'm sorry." i repeated, taking his hand and squeezing it, trying to reassure him. "but i still want to be friends. please?"

i pouted, making him chuckle. "how can i say no to that face?"

he leaned forward and kissed my forehead.

"see you later, okay?" he smiled.

"of course." i promised. i watched as he quickly climbed out of my window with ease, shooting me one last smile before he jumped to the ground.

i sighed.

thank god.

nate was incredibly sweet, but i felt bad enough leading two guys on. if i had a third, i don't think i could take it.

i lay back on my bed, chewing on my bottom lip.

what just happened... it was making me rethink everything.

i couldn't lead two guys on anymore. it was time to decide.

on one hand, i had jayden. kind, funny, sweet and he cares about me a lot. not to mention, he's insanely hot and has known me for years.

but then... i had jack. mysterious, protective, brooding, jealous, but also caring, gorgeous, and husband material.

husband...

i sat up.

i know who i have to choose.

this wasn't going to be easy. but... he had someone to fall back on.

i picked up my phone and scrolled through my contacts until i found his name.

i lifted the phone to my ear and waited, the dial tone echoing throughout my room.

"hello?" his voice answered after several seconds of ringing.

"hey... it's me. i think we need to talk." i said quietly.

"sounds serious." he commented. "do we need to do it in person?"

"i think so." i replied. "can you meet me at the park?"

"of course. i'll see you soon."

i hung up the phone and sighed. i quickly slid my converse on and jogged downstairs.

i passed luke on the stairs. "i'll be back soon." i told him. he nodded.

i let myself out of the house and began to walk, thoughts racing through my mind.

it was time to end this.

but i didn't think i was prepared.
