*Calum's POV
I couldn't stop thinking about the image of the look in Sarah's eyes when I said that the kiss meant nothing and that I didn't like her. It was filled with pain and betrayal. That was one of the biggest lies I've told. Everything about the kiss was perfect. The sudden spark I felt going down my spine, and I kissed her back. I cared about Sarah a lot, and she had a deep place in my heart that was now throbbing with pain because I was missing her.
I will never forget the words that came after the scene. They kept on repeatedly playing in my mind like a broken record.
Right after Lauren grabbed my hand pulling me around the corner she pushed me against the wall and said, " You are so clueless aren't you?" I had no idea what she was talking about. I was just really clueless of all my surroundings. The next period I had with Sarah in which I had to sit right behind her. I stayed quiet the whole period just observing the back of Sarah. I really hurt her. Sarah can't crack her knuckles unless she is nervous, angry, or sad which I could tell she was feeling all three. I no longer cared about Lauren or my friends, which I haven't been talking to recently because I've been so lost in my thoughts and emotions.
The new kid that sits in front of Sarah starts talking to Sarah which I could tell she liked. A smile grew on her face as the green eyed boy asked her if he wanted to hang out with her. From what I knew, Sarah never hung out with any other guy I knew besides me. I could feel the jealousy pour over me making it noticeable to anyone looking at me. I felt a sea of emotions soar over me as I saw the two bond. I knew he was just trying to sliver his way into her heart just to break it. My heart really just wanted to talk to her and make that boy me. But I knew I couldn't have because all I cared about was her happiness.
I decided to skip lunch, and go to the library which to my surprise I found the new kid, her, and her friend. They were all laughing hysterically like we did when we were best friends.Boy was he charming. I couldn't help but notice her friend, liking him too. It was like the both of them were under his spell. He did a good job at being kind just so he could get close to her, to the point where she feels vulnerable enough to get under his grip.
I was walking behind her and she knew I was but she didn't accept the fact I was. Once I got to my house I quickly made my way to my room and grabbed my notebook and a pencil. I liked to write my emotions out, soon turning them into songs. My head was filled with thoughts to the point where I got a headache. I didn't even think what I was writing, I just let the words flow out of me.
I named it "Gotta Get Out"
Even when the sky is falling down
Even when the earth is crumbling 'round my feet
Even when we try to say goodbye
And you can cut the tension with a knife in here
Cause I know what'll happen
If we get through this
And if the earth ends up crumbling down to its knees baby
We just gotta get out
We just gotta get out
And if the skyscrapers tumble down and crash around baby
We just gotta get out
We just gotta get out
'Cause I feel so damn lost
And it comes with a cost of being alone
Everything is falling down
We're suffering, helpless thoughts and
Out we sing, prayers go to the sky
And if the earth ends up crumbling down to its knees baby
We just gotta get out
We just gotta get out
Gotta get, gotta get, gotta get out
And if the skyscrapers tumble down and crash around baby
We just gotta get out
We just gotta get out
And if we fall
It's not your fault
Shadows covering
Our selfish foes
And as our love,
Can go out on a high note
Even when the sky is falling down
Even when the earth is crumbling 'round my feet
Around my feet
And if the earth ends up crumbling down to its knees baby
We just gotta get out
We just gotta get out
Gotta get, gotta get, gotta get out
And if the skyscrapers tumble down and crash around baby
We just gotta get out
We just gotta get out
We just gotta get out
We just gotta get out
We just gotta get out
We just gotta get out
We just gotta get out
Once I had finished I lied down on my bed sweating from the rapid pace I had been writing at. My sister Mali Koa, who is older than me burst into my room and said, "Hey loser, mom wants us to see her downstairs. " I had a very close bond with my sister. Though lately I was so lost in my thoughts and emotions that I hadn't spoken to her in a while.
I got myself out of bed sluggishly and made my way downstairs. My mom motioned me to sit down next to her so I did, which I was followed by my sister. My mom cleared her throat then finally said, " The Alston's are coming over tomorrow for dinner, you know like they usually do. They come over at 7 so I want you all downstairs by then. "
Great, I was about to have dinner with the girl I'd been thriving for.
