"SARAH WAKE UP!" My dad yelled for me to get ready for school. I realized how late it was, and stumbled as I tried to get out of bed. I started feeling light headed so I just collapsed onto my bed. Staring blankly at the ceiling, thinking about the dinner I had to attend at tonight at Calum's house. I knew this dinner was going to be a bust for me, considering it because of the scene that happened two days ago. I somehow managed to still think about it. His plush baby pink lips, his chocolate brown eyes, and the toothy smile he would give me. I quickly put on a pair of jeans and a all time low shirt, like I always did. I brushed my hair out roughly causing a bit of aching to my head. I grabbed my bag, that was surprisingly light and made my way downstairs to get a banana and chocolate milk my mom had prepared for me.
The day seemed to pass by pretty fast because next thing you know it's 6 o' clock. I had done nothing, since I had gotten back home. I pulled out a pair of jeans, a white shirt, and a blue tinted necklace Ashton had given me. Lately, I have been spending a lot of time with Ashton, Luke, and Michael. In my eyes, it seems to me that Ashton and Rose had been hitting it off pretty well. Michael also seemed to like Rose a lot. Luke on the other hand... had been flirting with me a bit. Don't get me wrong, I love the boys but right now my heart was in a bit of agony ever since Calum had humiliated me in front of all those people in the hall ways.
We had finally left to go to their house, and it seemed as their house had gotten closer to mine, but I know it didn't. The sudden feeling of my heart sinking started to fill my body, making me shake nervously and uncontrollably. I didn't know why, since the last time I knew, I was no longer trying to associate myself with Calum.
The door opened as his mother and sister greeted us. I loved his sister, though I wasn't quite sure she liked me so much. I was always much closer to Calum, she on the other hand seemed to find us annoying and thought it would just be best for the two of us to hang out. I saw Calum in the back in a white button down shirt that complimented his tan skin, and a pair of jeans just fumbling with the hem of his shirt as he leaned against the staircase. He looked up with his puppy dog like eyes and forced a smile. I could tell he was upset. Did he actually feel bad about what he did to me?
I stepped into his house observing the place, nothing had changed like I'd expect it to. Our parents started walking to the dining room, which I tried following until I felt a sudden grip at my wrist, pulling me to face Calum.
"Sarah, can we talk?" him sounding shyer then he usually did. He stuffed his hands in his jeans trying to look innocent.
"Why?"
"Because I hate myself for what I did. Can you please, accept my apology?" The words shocked me in a way. I was trying to find a distraction, but I always found myself meeting his eyes. My stomach started to stir, and I felt claustrophobic.
"Do you realize what you did to me?" I said with tears starting to gather in my eyes.
"I know, and I truly am sorry. "
"I think it's a little too late for that Calum. I've waited years for an apology, and now that you lost your girlfriend and your friends you come crawling back to me?"
"I just I uh-" I could see his eyes starting to water. My eyes were gleaming with sympathy, mostly with sadness. I knew he was about to crack, so I wrapped my arms around his waist, and he did the same by wrapping his arms around my neck and burring his head into my shoulder. Mali was about to call us to dinner but she just said,"I guess I'll leave you two alone.."
The hug seemed to last forever, and we both started shedding tears. "I missed you so much. " I said sniffling.
"Me too, and for now on, I really promise I'll be there for you. "I started calming down, and it seemed like I belonged in his arms. We finally pulled apart, just making me want to go back into his arms. He wiped a tear off my face and I did the same. We stared into each other's eyes, with our chests touching. We finally had no more tears, and he placed a warm kiss on my forehead.
I walked to the dinner table, with him trailing behind me and my hand holding his. We sat down right across from each other, and chuckled like idiots. As our dinner was being served I felt his leg brush up against mine, which made me sit straight up in startle. He gave me this flirty smile, which I couldn't help but smile down to my plate.
The night was coming to an end, and my family and I started making our way to the door when all of a sudden I felt Calum's hand pull mine around the corner. By now, I was against the wall and he was leaning over me, I thought he was about to kiss me, but he just pouted and said, " Can you pleaseeee stay with me for the night?" Sounding like a little kid.
I smiled and turned the corner to ask my parents, which they gladly agreed since it wasn't a school night and we lived right next door. Calum smiled at the answer, pulling me upstairs. I got to his bedroom which was messier than I remember. I leaned back onto his bed, and stared at his dark blue ceiling.
"That's a pretty necklace. " He said and disrupting my view.
"Yeah, Ashton gave it to me. " I said with a smile looking down at it.
"Oh. Are you with him or something?" he said and me sensing a bit of jealousy in his voice.
"No, we're just friends. Plus, he seems to be more into Rose then me. " I saw Calum grow happy. I yawned and told him I was tired. But the next thing I know I was fast asleep, in his arms.
