*Flashback*
I sit on the couch looking through the T.V channels to see what to watch, turning up the T.V. to block out my parents fighting. Since nothing was on, I was stuck with Teen Nick. I turn the volume up higher because I can still hear my mother scream a string of profanities, but I didn't feel bad for him; he said them right back.
"Oh come on Rick! All you ever do is sit and write!" I hear my mother yell.
"Well that is my job! Or is it to be your waiter and take care of you hand and foot?"
"Rick you're not my servant, I never asked you to be! All I want is for you to spend more time with Kayla and me!"
"Annabelle I don't see you doing anything to help our daughter either! You're away on travel for movies!"
"Well Rick that's my job too! You're not the only one that has a job!" she shouts.
*End of Flashback*
"Kayla?" Fiona asked snapping her fingers in front of my face.
"Sorry where was I?" I asked. "Oh I know! Never mind. Okay the first time I saw Chase was when I was five years old. It was the very first day of kindergarten, and I was so nervous that I attached myself to my Mom's leg, screaming about not wanting to go. When they finally got me off, they took me into the classrom. I was stil crying, and I took a seat at the back of the room. Then the teacher started introducing herself to the class, and she wanted us to do the same. I was so nervous, I started crying all over again. Chase was watching me the whole time. When the teacher was done, he calmly raised his hand and asked if he could sit next to me, the teacher agreed, and he skipped over to my table before giving me a toothless smile. 'I'm Chase.' That's where it started. We clicked right away we were friends instantly, so were are moms." I smile slightly at the memory, momentarily forgetting that I was in a room full of girls until I begin to hear a chorus of awwwws.
"Well his mom and my mom are both actresses and one day, my mom got a letter. It said that she had not gotten the part, but Chase's mom had. During this time I was playing with Chase at the park where my dad was watching us. Once I got home I went to sleep super excited to hang out with him again the next day. Well apparently my mom had called his mom and blamed her of stealing my mom's part. Chase's mom hated that and told him not to hang out with me anymore because my mom had 'ruined' her life. So the next day I got up changed, and went to his penthouse right next door and rang the bell. He answered it and said that we couldn't be friends anymore I asked why. But his mom came up behind him and yelled at me to leave, screaming something about me turning out just like my mother. So that's what ruined our friendship, his mom and my mom fighting about a part they both wanted."
"So it was all over a part!" Eve questioned, her eyes widening. I nodded.
"After that he made fun of me and always gave me a hard time about my parents getting a divorce, saying things about me that weren't true. So I told my mom and she told me not to talk to him or hang out with him anymore which hurt the most. He was the one person that I trusted; the one I told all of my secrets to. It was like he turned into a completely different person, and the little boy that would would hold my hand when I got nervous, or pick me flowers for no reason at all was gone." I sighed. Fiona looked at me.
"Are you cry to cry?" she asked, sensing my change in mood. I shook my head, wiping away any traitor tears that were going to fall.
"I'm fine!" I say with false cheeriness. Eve looks at me, worried.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm fine trust me, it's just hard to talk about it." I said. They nodded now smiling at me. "Thanks for making me feel better."
