I walk into the airplane and sit down, I couldn’t be more excited to go home than ever. I loved Pennsylvania that’s been my home for the past few months, but Hollywood that was my real home. A tall man with blackish gray hair sits in the empty seat next to me and smiles; he has emerald green eyes like mine. I pull out the latest book my dad had written and given me a copy to read.
“You like Rick Garson?” he asks. I nod, looking at him but before I can do anything else I recognize the man’s face.
“Dad?” I asked.
“Man even my own daughter can’t recognize me!” he says laughing.
“I’m sorry, I thought I recognized you,” I laugh. He hugs me and smiles. “What are you doing here?”
“Book signing now I’m going back home,” he laughs. “Now I have a question for you what are you doing on this plane?”
“Visiting home for the weekend! I needed to see my family,” I say. He eyes me with suspicion.
“You left something out Kayla I can tell these things,” he says with a stern look. I nod and tell him all about Chase and all the things that have been happening for the past months or so. He nods. “You should tell mom,”
“I can’t, she would be so mad dad and you know how she gets!” I protest.
“But she is the one to start this huge deal and now it’s affecting you and that’s not okay with me,” he says shaking his head.
“But Daddy,” I start.
“Don’t ‘But Daddy’ me. No buts about it you’re telling her!” he says sternly.
“Fine,” I say crossing my arms across my chest and pouting.
“Kayla your fifteen you shouldn’t pout like a five your old,” he scolds. I stop pouting and turn the small T.V on. “Now Kayla don’t do that,”
“Dad you know how hard it is to be me? You don’t have the press stuck up in your face wondering what you’re doing out with your friends or has to deal with not being able to talk to your old best friend. You didn’t have to listen to fighting when you two where still together. Or got slapped today, yelled at by a jerk, and now having your own dad go against you. All the kids think man Kayla’s life is so perfect she can do everything is super pretty and is rich and famous. What about my needs? What have I ever gotten that I actually wanted to go right in life nothing!? I just want to have a normal life for a few hours where I don’t get that! I just wish I could go back in time so I can have a normal life like all the other kids did. Why do people wish for my life because my life seems perfect? But really it’s not! It’s not the greatest thing to be Rick and Annabelle Garson’s daughter at times, being extremely popular, or being Chase Gray’s friend. I’m tired of it! I’m tired of the rumors, of the fighting, of knowing all the gossip on everyone, being so pretty where guys that are twenty four who are falling for you, and I’m tired of being a pretty know it all. I’m done! I can’t do anything without having to feel like it might get into the papers. I don’t want to worry I want to be reckless and do crazy stupid things because that’s what a teenager does!” I say full on sobbing now. I shake my head and turn the channel to some movie. As I watch the main guy character I recognize Chase is playing the main character, I hit info Falling in Love with You it says. This was my favorite movie I never noticed he was in it before! I change it real quick now that I noticed I hate Chase; I thought to myself a big fat jerk is what he is.
