Jyn had given a small wave to Sage and then turned around. She didn't know which was more nerveracking, Sage catching her sneaking into Cassian's room, or actually sneaking into Cassian's room. She decided the latter was a better situation so she quickly turned and knocked on his door, she waited a second before opening the door, revealing absolute darkness and walking in. She closed the door behind her and clung to it for a second before her eyes adjusted to the dark.

There was a very dimly lit lamp in the corner farthest from the bed that allowed Jyn to see the outlines of the bed. Realizing that since Cassian hadn't spoken yet, she figured he was still asleep. Yet as she listened to the silence, she could hear vague movements and sniffling, like someone was rolling around in their bed crying.

Jyn felt sad all of the sudden as she walked over to the dimly lit lamp and turned it up a notch, allowing her to see Cassian fully. It was just that, he was shaking, sweating and turning every once in a while. Jyn couldn't watch it anymore so without hesitation she placed her knee on the bed, leaning forward and placing her hand on Cassian's chest causing him to jump awake. His eyes widened at the touch but then softened as he saw her, his breathing was heavy. "It's just you," he mumbled, sitting up and putting his head in his hands.

Jyn only nodded before she climb around him to the other side of the bed, the side that was empty. She sat down there, her legs crisscrossed as her back was against the wall and she was facing Cassian's side. "Bad dream?"

Cassian look confused for a moment as she climbed up onto his bed, not remembering when he invited her up. He mentally shrugged it off, "Yeah," he mumbled, taking in a deep breath as he once again put his head in his hands.

"Tell me about it.." Jyn said, her head lowering slightly to look at his eyes.

Cassian looked over at her and his mouth parted slightly, he almost scoffed, "No-" he paused and watched, she was completely serious. He let out a deep breath, trying to figure out how to word it without sounding wimpy. "The uh-, the men I've killed," he starts off, expecting Jyn to walk away.

She clenched her teeth but still, she stayed and waited for him to continue. "I see them, whenever I close my eyes, especially at night when I try to sleep." He speaks, looking down at the blanket covering his body.

Jyn knew there was more so she continued to wait. He sighed once more before speaking again, "I remember each one of them, and I remember why they all died, for the rebellion-"

Jyn cut him off, "Cassian, you're a human being," she paused causing him to look up at her, his eyes becoming sad. "Whether or not you killed them all for a cause, it doesn't make the fact that you killed them, go away."

Cassian looked at her, knowing she was completely right. "Cass, you have to stop and think about yourself every once in a while."

To Jyn's surprise, this made Cassian break down. He wasn't only sad but he was also scared. Tears began leaving his eyes and that's when Jyn reached forward, one hand on his broad shoulder and the other on the back of his neck as she pulled him to her. Cassian fell into her, his head resting on her chest as he cried and she held him.

Cassian had never been this vulnerable in front of someone else, not even in front of himself. Jyn figured he had been ignoring his feelings since he was a child and that's why he couldn't control himself when she spoke to him. It was a vulnerable moment for them both, the lighting in the room added to the intimacy of it.

They sat like that for about ten minutes until it became silent, Cassian's tears stopped and he realized who he was with. His hand reached up and lightly grabbed Jyn's forearm, slightly startling her. Cassian felt her heartbeat pick up.
