Meanwhile back at the cabins, the group had already started the fire. Everyone had a drink in their hand as they sat around the fire. When I say drink, I mean beer.
When we walked up to the fire, Walker have Canyon this strange, questioning look. I saw, from the corner of my eye Canyon nod his head as if he was saying no. It made them look suspicious and made me wonder what it was about. I didn't read in to it much. Instead, I grabbed a beer and sat by Kylie.
"Are you having fun?" She slurs at me. She was definitely a lot drinker than before.
"Yes. I can already see that you are, too." I grin. She laughs and almost falls off the log we were sitting on.
"Miles, do you remember in 7th grade when we dared you to go streaking?" Josh asks, laughing hysterically.
Miles's face turns a bright before he starts laughing along with everyone else. "That got me grounded for a month. I never did another date again because of it."
"Mainly because everybody saw your manhood." Canyon howls.
"There wasn't much to see." Walker comments. Miles stands up and begins unbuckling the pants he changed into. Everybody covers their eyes, laughing hysterically and motioning for him to sit down.
For hours, we dance around the fire and share embarrassing childhood memories. Even Alexis was enjoying herself. We didn't give each other dirty looks or give smart remarks for the rest of the night. We just enjoyed it while we could.
It was about 2:15 am when we all decided to take our drunk asses to sleep. We all said our good nights and walked to our cabins. I was drunk, but not drunk to the point of stumbling everywhere. I changed into my night clothes in the bathroom, and Canyon changed to his in the bedroom.
I jumped on the bed and settled under the covers. I wanted to sleep this feeling off and hopefully wake up without a hangover tomorrow. Canyon slides under the covers next to me. Honestly, I didn't mind sleeping next to him tonight. Earlier I was against it, but I was in the mood to cuddle.
By the move he made, I'm assuming he was, too. He wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me closer. I turned on my stomach, throwing my arm and leg over him. The contact from his skin kept me warmer. I was comfortable enough to instantly fall asleep. Apparently, Canyon was, too because I heard his snoring before I fell asleep.
I woke up to shuffling around the room. I opened my eyes to Canyon picking up our bags and taking them outside. I climbed out of bed and walked outside. Everybody was awake and putting their night bag in to the trunks of their cars. Of course, Miles and Carly rode together, just like Kylie and Josh, and Alexis and Walker.
"Hey, sleepy head." Josh greets me, smiling.
"What time is it?" I groan. My eyes were hurting from the brightness of the sun.
"Almost 11 am." Carly answers, closing Miles's trunk.
I groan again. "You can sleep in the car." Canyon suggested.
"That's probably not going to happen. You'll speed, get in a car accident, and I'll die in my sleep." I drag my feet to the car, and stand beside the door.
A chuckle erupts from Canyon's chest. "I'll drive at a normal speed. Come on, get in the car." He walks around me, holding open my car door, gesturing for me to get in. I settle myself in my seat and lean my head against the window.
"Are you feeling okay?" Canyon ask, buckling his seat belt and starting the car.
I close my eyes and relax, the music soothing to my ears. "I'm fine. I'm just really tired." I mumble, falling in to a deep sleep.
I feel myself being lifted out of my seat by strong arms. I lean my head on their shoulder and wrap my hands around their neck. I hear a door click twice, signaling it was opened and closed. I groan when I feel the soft plushiness off my bed an comforter under my skin.
"Shh, go back to sleep. You're fine." I hear someone whisper. I knew by the deep voice that it was Canyon.
I roll around in my bed, trying to get comfortable. I'm in a comfortable position when I hear my bedroom door click, as well as the front door. A car starts and is driving away.
I roll out of bed and look at my clock. It reads 5:00 pm. I spent most of my day sleeping, and I wanted to get out of here. I woke up feeling exhausted. Now, I'm energized and just want to be around my two best friends. I slip on a pair of skinny jeans and a Sleeping with Sirens T-shirt with my converse. I grab my car keys, start my car, and head to Carly's. I knew she'd be home and Kylie would be with her. They mentioned spending the day together last night.
I park my car in Carly's driveway, and walk to her front door. I knock for a few minutes before someone opens it. I was definitely shocked to see who it was. Tanner Jackson, an original player that started the first, sick game, was home from college. Maybe he's in town for Thanksgiving break. If he's in town, that means the rest of the players are in town. This wouldn't be good for me or anyone else.
He smiles, looking me over. "Hey, Tyra. It's been a long time."
"Hey, Tanner. It's good to see you." I smile. Secretly, I'm a little scared that he's here. Although we never did anything about it, we definitely had a bi of a thing for each other. Canyon wasn't going to be too happy about this.
