I lift myself from the recliner, feeling better after my nap. I slept for a few hours without any disturbances and it felt amazing. I look around the room, noticing the television is off. I could've swore it was on when I fell asleep. I hear a loud bang coming from the kitchen, alerting my sense. I walk slowly to the kitchen, scared to see who or what is in there. I round the corner and my heartbeat sped up. Aunt Leah was finally home!

"Aunt Leah!" I scream. She turns around, smiling. She rushes over to me, embracing me and kissing my forehead. She smells just like I remember, like chocolate chip cookies and vanilla. We hold each other tight like we hadn't seen each other in years.

"Gosh, I missed you so much. How are you? How is school? How is volleyball?" She pulls away, holding me at arms length, rushing questions out of her mouth.

"Everything is good, as well as myself. We have our semi-final game next Tuesday. If we win, we get to compete at states." I smile.

She screams. "I'm so excited! I know you'll make it to states. I have faith in you."

I twirl my noodles around my fork and shove it in my mouth. One noodle hangs down and I slurp it up. Me and and Leah made our favorite dinner, just like we usually do the first night she's back home. If she comes home in the morning or afternoon, we make our traditional breakfast or lunch just like the dinner. She slurped her noodle, the sauce now covering her lips. We both laugh at the action as she licks her lips clean.

After dinner, I help her clean up the mess. We cleaned the dishes and sanitized the countertop. I usually don't help, as she insists that she's the adult and can very much clean by herself. This time, I insisted on helping. I knew she had been stressed with the new restaurant opening.

"I'm beat. I think it's time to hit the hay." Leah wipes her forehead, pretending to have sweat on her hand from doing so.

"Yeah, me too. That nap was good, but I'm definitely wore out." I agree with her.

I walk up the stairs with Leah following behind. I reach my room and slide into bed, feeling too lazy to change into night clothes again. I hear small footsteps coming towards my room.

Leah plants a soft kiss on my forehead and runs her fingers through my hair. "Goodnight my angel." She walks out quietly. A moment later I hear her doorknob click and I know she's in the comfort of her own bed again.

Warmth spreads around my heart knowing I have he back. I was beginning to get lonely. Sure, I had the constant annoying company of Canyon and the fun of Kylie and Carly, but they weren't my aunt. I felt complete with her being home and to be able to watch my volleyball games. Everything was normal again.

As soon as I woke up, I walked downstairs to eat breakfast. I found a note on the refrigerator from Leah. Even though I was hoping she would have a break from work, I knew she wouldn't. Every morning after she comes home from a business trip, she has a meeting about her finances and more places to open a restaurant. It was good that she was fulfilling her dream. I just craved her attention every time she came home.

I made myself a pancake, sausage, and eggs with toast and a glass of milk. While I was enjoying my very tasty breakfast, somebody barges into my house. To no surprise like all the other times, Canyon was the one appearing.

"Did you make me breakfast, babe?" He reaches for one of my sausages. I used me for to try to stab his hand, which made him pull his hand back.

"What do you want?" I ask between mouthfuls of food.

"Well, we need to go to the mall. We're going to a bonfire tonight and I want you to have a new bathing suit." Canyon chirps out. He seemed a little too excited for a bonfire. It was making me nervous.

"It's November an cold outside. I'm not swimming in water that's going to turn my toes purple." I point out.

He laughs. "Not only are we going to a bonfire, we're going on a road trip, too. I'm not trying to have my manhood freeze off. Trust me, we're going somewhere warm. You need to pack an overnight bag, too." He smiles, walking into the loving room and making himself comfortable. I sit at the dining room table, staring at him. "What are you waiting for? you better go get dressed."

I clean my plate and go to get dressed and pack a bag of clothes. When I'm done, I walk down the steps and into the living room. Canyon's eyes are closed and he's snoring. I don't understand why he always falls asleep at my house. I smack him in his face, waking him up.

"Let's go, idiot." I laugh as we walk out of the house an leave for the mall.
