Closure

"Seth?! Kay?!" A voice was heard suddenly. We looked at the source and saw Airil with Sally. They gaped at us. I felt like running away. The event played in my head, made me feel embarrassed at how Airil played me. I felt Seth pulled me closer, gripping my waist. I squirmed as the two hesitantly came closer. Seth stood taller with a determined look on his face. I knew he was hurt by what Airil did to him. More hurt than angry.

"Err, hey. What are you guys doing here?" Airil asked hesitantly. Sally was looking at her shoes. I looked at Sally and somehow couldn't get angry anymore. It's futile, really.

"We were watching a movie. What about you ?" Seth asked monotonously. There wasn't an ounce of affection in his voice. It sounded formal and robotic.

"Oh, we're watching a movie too...Err, Seth, can we talk for a bit." Airil asked pleadingly. Seth looked at me and gave my hand a squeeze.

"Be right back, Baby." Seth said softly but loud enough for the two traitors to hear. I saw Sally looking longingly at Seth. And then she looked at me a little guiltily.

"Erm Kay...I..I want to apologize to you for what happened. I never wanted this to happen..." Sally blurted out suddenly.

"But why did it happen, Sally? Why Airil? I thought you said you liked Seth. And that you were dating." I said sternly. Sally sighed and finally looked at me with a determined look on her face.

"Kay, how would you feel if this guy you've been crushing on for a year suddenly asked you out...and then all he ever did was talk about another girl. He may not sound like he was saying nice things about you, but your mere presence bothered the hell out of him. And he's such a grouch when we go out as a group coz he hated seeing you. And the best part was not coz he actually hated you. He didn't have to say it, but the way you make him all wound up and uncomfortable told me that he had feelings for you. And I even found photos of you in his phone. He thought I didn't know but I do. He has every group picture when you're in them. At first I thought he was keeping the photos with me in them, but when I looked closely, I was only in 2 of those group pics and you were in every single one of them." Sally said a little angrily. She was on a roll. And I was very surprised at what she was telling me. Then it's true. All the while that he had been a bastard, he was actually pining for me. I wanted to jump happily but I figured Sally won't appreciate it.

"But why did you go out with Airil? Why didn't you try and work it out with Seth?" I asked.

"Airil was the one person who understands. We talked and somehow we comforted each other. Why would you complain anyway? It worked out well for you both." Sally said, a bit grudgingly. I had to agree with that. I looked over at Airil and Seth and saw that Airil looked humbled while Seth stood there, serious and unfeeling. But then they shook hands.

"Look Sally, I accept your apology. And I hope you guys are happy." I said finally, not wanting to prolong this.

"Thanx Kay. I'm sorry things turn out like this. But I guess it's for the best. Seth's clearly in love with you. And Airil treats me really well. Much2 better than Seth ever did."Sally said. We smiled at each other as the boys came over. Airil was looking at me sheepishly.

"Kay, I'm sorry for what I did. Really. I hope we can put it behind us. I know I was a bastard but I hope you can forgive me. I did like you then. Really. But I guess seeing Seth and you together now, it worked out in the end, huh?" Airil said with a wry smile. I looked at him and only smiled a lil bit. Well, what he said and did hurt. It'll be a while for me to recover from that.
