12:45 pm St Luke's Hospital
"Ready to go guys?" Aaron asks the little group
"Yeah, I'll go get Vanessa" Vincent says back
As Vince walks away, Veronica starts a conversation with Aaron.
"I'm so happy that You and Vanessa are close again. I hated not talking with you." Veronica says
"I'm happy too" he says back
Vincent walks to the vending machines and finds no sign of Vanessa. He looks around and sees nobody. Then, he looks on the ground. He sees a cloth and Vanessa's phone. His heart gradually started to beat faster as he picked up the cloth. As Vincent began to examine it, he realized that it was chloroform. His eyes widen and he runs to Aaron.
"Aaron I need you" he said almost with tears forming in his eyes. They run back to the vending machines.
"I think someone has taken Vanessa" Vincent says, almost fainting
"What?!" Aaron yells out "How do you know?" He asks as he lowers his voice
"I found her phone on the ground and found this cloth." Aaron grabbed the handkerchief.
"It has chloroform on it" Vincent says
"Call the police. I'll tell Veronica" Aaron says. He ran back away.
Veronica POV
I was sitting and playing on my phone when Aaron ran towards me. He grabbed me and stood me up. I was confused until he spoke the words that I never wanted to hear
"Veronica...Vanessa is gone" he said
"Wh...what?" I ask "What do you mean?" I say with tears forming in my eyes
"Vince... He found a cloth with chloroform and her phone on the ground." He said with tears streaming down his face. I sit down and stuff my face into my hands to cry. Aaron ran back to Vincent to leave me alone.
Vincent POV
The police arrive. I called the chief of surgery and Aaron calls our chief.
"Sir, can we search your surveillance cameras?" I ask
"Why?" He says
"Our friend... we found a cloth with chloroform and she's gone." I said almost breaking down into tears
"Of course." He said. "Go to the security office right next to my office"
I walk to Veronica. I lift her up and kiss her on cheek.
"Everything will be fine, dimples. I promise" I say wrapping her hair around her ear. She grabs my face and kisses me. I could taste her salty tears. She sniffles and says,
"You promise?"
"I promise" I say. I kiss her on last time and run towards the office as fast as I could. I sat down at the big tv with all the footage.
"There!" I yelled out to the security men.
The tape shows Vanessa examine the vending machine and press the buttons. But then it cut out into a black screen. Then, an image of a devil popped in. The screen came back on without Vanessa in the footage.
"Damn it!" I yelled out and slammed the table
I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration.
Aaron POV
The police closed off the room. I tried my best to help but my emotion got the best of me. I took three deep breaths. I started to examine anything and everything. I saw a devil sign on the vending machine. In that moment, I knew it was El Diablo. I ran back to where Veronica was when I see Vincent running back too.
"It's El Diablo" he says
"What did you find on the tapes?" I ask
"We saw Vanessa standing there then it cut to a picture of a devil." He says
"What did the chief say?" He asks me
"No answer" I say
"I'm scared" Veronica says from the background. We both turn to here and realize that this is way harder for her than us. Vincent walks toward her.
"I need you to do something. Call your parents ok? I love you" Vince says. Roni gets up and walks away.
"What are we going to do?" Vincent says for looking into oblivion. For the first time in forever, I didn't know. I didn't know where this path would lead.
"I don't know" I turn and try to hold back the tears.
A/N So... What will happen to Vanessa?
