The Beginning of The End

Chapter 19

Vincent POV
I stood there in shock, not even knowing what to do next.
"You're.... my brother. Bullshit!" I yell out
"You better believe it. Luis Almanza. Born June 6, 1980. Son of Maria and Dominic Almanza." He said back. It was true. He was my brother.
I felt like I was going to pass out.
"You're a psychopath." I say
"Maybe, yes. Anyways, back to my story. After you were born, mom and dad turned into abusive parents. You would never remember this but they would beat you and I until we looked like blueberries. Then, when I turned 17, I knew what I had to do. You were on a play date when I set our apartment on fire." He said.

"You monster!" I ran forward to him again.

"No no. Don't get to close buddy. You don't want the "love of your life" to see your brains being blown out would ya?" He said. "From then on, I loved committing any crime there is."
"You are insane! You are a killer." I yelled out
"
Hey! I was just trying to protect you! Who knows what they could've done to you!" He clears his throat. He pointed the gun towards me again
Aaron POV
I run down the stairs and walk down the long hallway. Cautiously, I snuck into the big room to find Vincent standing in the middle. It was an auditorium. I inched forward a little more to see Veronica, Vanessa, and El Diablo standing on the stage. He had a gun pointed to Vincent.
"So now, I'm not gonna shoot you first. I'm gonna shot her then her then... you" he said
I ran to the backstage area.
"Don't you dare!" I heard Vincent yell out. I had my gun in my hands.
Veronica POV
I see El Diablo slowly point the gun to my head. He placed his finger on the trigger. I closed my eyes when I heard a gunshot but it wasn't for me. I open my eyes and I wasn't dead. I was confused at first but then I see El Diablo on the ground holding his leg. Aaron walked from backstage and put handcuffs on him. Vincent ran to Vanessa and I to untie us from the chairs. He hugged me so tight I couldn't breath. He then kicked El Diablo or Luis in the stomach.
"You're under arrest" Aaron says
"Now hold on a minute." Luis says. He starts to pull something out of his pocket but Aaron grabs it and throws it off the stage.
"Haha. Too bad I've already pressed it bud. I'm not the only one dying here tonight"
Aaron POV
"T-minus 3 minutes to destruction." A voice blared from speakers.
"You asshole" I let go of him
"We have to get out of here." Vincent said.
"I can't walk." Vanessa said
"What?" Veronica asked her
"She probably broke her leg when we hit her with the bat" El Diablo said. Veronica walked over to him and kicked him in the nuts.
"Ok. I'll carry you." I said. I picked her up in my arms and she held on to me.
"T-minus 2 minutes to destruction" another announcement spoke out.
"Let's go!" Vincent said. We all ran out together and left El Diablo to die.
Vanessa POV
Aaron held me as we ran out. I have got to be honest. As he held me close, I wished we were still together. We got to the top of the building and saw the door. He ran towards it but then a loud crash echoed throughout the church.
Vincent POV
I heard a bang ring in the air. Aaron and Nessa kept running forward and out the door. I was almost to the exit when I noticed Veronica wasn't around me. I looked behind and saw her leg crushed by a piece of falling wood. She struggled to get her leg out.
"T-Minus 1 minute to destruction"
I ran back to her and tried to help.
"Just go. Leave me here!" She yelled at me
"I can't just let you go like that." I said. I lifted the piece of wood and carried her out the door right before the whole building collapsed. I hugged her to block the explosion and we hit the ground. I looked back at the church as it caught fire once again. Veronica looked up at me and grabbed my face to kiss me.
"I love you so much." She said
"I love you too." I said back.
"Guys!" Aaron called out to us
"what happened?" He asked with fear plastered onto his face.
"My leg got caught." Veronica said.
"Let me see it babe." I pulled up her pant leg
"I don't think it's broken but you need some stitches." I say. The cops and an ambulance came rushing in. I lifted Roni to the car and Aaron lifted Nessa. They both were taken to the hospital and we followed.

I sat next to Veronica, waiting for Vanessa to get her cast on.
"I never wanted to put you through that babe." I said. "I have to leave. I'll just put your life in danger."

"Vince. Do you know why I wasn't crying when he pointed the gun to my head? Because... I saw you. Somehow I knew that everything was bound to be ok." I put my head on her forehead. She pressed her lips against mine and we shared another kiss.
