Ugh when can I go home... Jin wondered as he sat in math class last period, only a couple weeks back into school and he was already fed up. The bell finally rang, though the bustle of students rushing to pack away their things was what made Jin realise it was the end of the day. He slung his backpack over his shoulder before making his way to his locker, remembering he'd left his lunchbox in there. "Jin!" Namjoon called, following him down the hallway, Jin not hearing him and so carrying on. It wasn't until he'd got to his locker that an out of breath Namjoon had caught up with him, patting his back. "Yah! I just- ran all that way an- and you didn't stop!" "Sorry Namjoon, but it's cute you started running" Jin laughed seeing him wipe his head dramatically as if he was sweating. "Anyways, are you done here I wanted to ask you something".
Jin nodded, sticking his tongue out slightly in concentration as he re-did the lock. "Okay what's up?" Namjoon shifted his weight side to side, looking down before lifting his gaze to Jin's face, "Umm.. Not here, can we go like outside or something?" Jin agreed, walking by Namjoon's side as they made their way out the main doors. Namjoon kept walking, nodding his head to indicate where they were walking to. Jin followed his eye line to the cherry blossom trees on their school field, Namjoon having one particular tree in sight.
Taking hold of Jin's soft palm, fingers lacing together, Namjoon blushed slightly as he reached into his jacket pocket to retrieve a small rose, slightly crumpled but still okay. "I.. Uh.. I wanted to ask you out for our first date you know? Make it official and all..." Jin smiled, cheeks darkening as he felt the petals brush against his other hand, Namjoon handing it to him. "Who knew you could be such a gentlemen" Jin giggled, eyelashes fluttering as he looked at his boyfriend. "Yeah yeah, don't tease me! I wanted to make it special".
Jin laughed, looking up at the tree they were situated under. "Why this one?" The tree was not the biggest, quite a few of the flowers not having bloomed yet. "Because it represents us, our love you know? I- I'm going to sound cheesy saying it but it's like we haven't bloomed yet, I feel like we can open up to each other the longer we stay together... I don't know.." He kicked at the ground, eyes peeling up to glimpse at Jin. "Awh Namjoon" He was encased in a hug, Namjoon being able to comfortably hide his crimson face in Jin's warm neck. "So.. Where are you taking me?"
They walked together down the street, though as the pathways became more crowded with people, Namjoon's grip on Jin's hand loosened. Jin passed it off as a simple accident and didn't make any further attempt to hold his hand again. They reached the local coffee shop, Namjoon eagerly pulling Jin inside earning him a 'really' look. "Namjoon-ah have you ever even had coffee before?" He laughed, watching his bewildered face as Namjoon read the menu boards. "Can I help you sir?" A nice woman asked over the counter, "Umm... Two coffees please" Jin wanted to face palm so bad, this boy was supposed to be intelligent. "Okay, could you be more specific please? Like what size and type?" Namjoon blushed in embarrassment, "Umm just plain coffee please.. Medium size" Jin had a hand clasped over his mouth to stop laughing, he was so cute and helpless.
Eventually they had managed to get a coffee each, nice and frothy on the top with a couple of biscuits each. "You really had no clue did you?" "Yah don't make fun of me, Jin." He pouted, Jin taking the opportunity to steal some of his coffee foam. Namjoon took a sip of the coffee, face scrunching in disgust, "Eww" He childishly wiped his mouth with a napkin. "No wonder only adults drink this stuff" He spat, making Jin go red from laughing. "Oh Namjoon you made me laugh, you're such a child" It made Namjoon happy to see the boy squealing, "Do you at least like it" He asked, Jin's long fingers laying on the cup. "Never tried it" he shyly admitted, taking a sip as Namjoon urged him on. The bitter taste wasn't pleasant, but he swallowed anyway, his face contorting in much the same way. "Not that good huh?" Namjoon sighed.
"Again, why did you want to get coffee?" Jin asked upon leaving the café. "I don't know... I thought it would be like a proper grown up date" He looked down at the floor, slightly embarrassed and feeling foolish. "Namjoon-ah just because we aren't adults doesn't mean it's not a proper date" Namjoon smiled, having raised his head and shown his tinted cheeks to Jin. "You're so cute" He admitted, playing with his fingers as he often did. "Let me plan something better next time! I know it wasn't a very good first date.. So if you want we won't count it" Jin laughed, nudging Namjoon.
"You're such an idiot, I had a great time! And I think I should plan the next date anyway" Jin smirked, making Namjoon groan, Jin's idea of what was 'fun' was often only video games. "Don't worry I have something good in mind". Namjoon felt a bit more at ease now that it was darker, slipping his arm through Jin's, trying to make it seem casual. "Let's go home now before they start to worry" Namjoon agreed, resting his head on Jin's shoulder as they continued walking up the street. "Should I be the one to get you flowers next time?" Jin teased, "I feel like I'm the one that should get you them though" Namjoon laughed, "Is that because I like pink? I seem like the girl?" Jin feigned shock, "What? NO! It's just.. I didn't mean-" Jin broke the act and started laughing making Namjoon hit him.
"You brat" he teased, though he was still smiling. In fact, they both kept smiling all the way home, Namjoon giving him a quick peck before they went to their own homes for the evening. "Did you take him out?" Namjoon's mother asked excitedly, him nodding with such a big goofy grin on his face. "Didn't I tell you he liked you?" She laughed, ruffling his hair, "Yes Omma, can I go to bed now?" "Alright, go on, go get some sleep little man" He smiled, running excitedly upstairs, I'm so lucky! He thought, holding his lips, I actually get to kiss him! It reminded him of when he was a little boy and had kissed him on his birthday. I love him...
