A new album, a fresh new start, full of new ideas... Right?
Namjoon scrunched up the 50th ball of paper that evening, frustrated to his very core that he literally couldn't come up with anything. It was supposed to be his job to write alongside Yoongi, yet he couldn't even draft anything down. "I wouldn't go in there if I was you Jin, he's been mad all afternoon" Yoongi pre warned, having been yelled at promptly after only asking what the main theme of the new album was. "I'll get him to calm down" Jin reassured, patting Yoongi's shoulder.
He was a little nervous though, knocking on the door first to the work room - which consisted of a large desk with a Mac on it, a couple of chairs too. "Joonie? You alright?" Namjoon didn't reply, and Jin could only see his back from where he was. "What are you sulking about in here?" he saw Namjoon briefly turn backwards, only shooting a sharp glare to then turn back around. "Look, Namjoon, we have ages until we need to think about making the new songs, stop stressing, there's no point forcing ideas".
"Easy for you to say, you're not writing them" Namjoon retaliated, looking through the monitor's reflection at Jin. "Wha-" he was surprised when Jin didn't leave, but instead came over and took a seat in his lap. "What were you drafting originally?" he asked curiously, looking over some of the loose sheets on the wooden desk. "It's stupid..." "Tell me" Jin said, reading some of the work anyway, "Well I was thinking about how the school system is still unfair... But it doesn't really fit in with the 'aggressive' theme we have right now" he sighed, fiddling with his pen. "Well, it doesn't have to be aggressive... But you could make it that way, you know, students fighting back against the system, saying no?".
Namjoon quickly nodded, leaning his arm over Jin's waist to write down the idea, a small smile playing on his lips. "See, you've been here what? Two seconds and came up with that? I've been here for hours" he continued to groan, "Stop whining, it's because you've made yourself sit here so you couldn't think of anything... Just let the ideas come to you gradually" Jin smiled, pecking his boyfriend's cheek. "Alright, alright Mr. words-of-wisdom" he chuckled, nuzzling his nose. "Come on, you need to sleep" Jin grinned, trying to pull him up but Namjoon stayed put. "I just got some ideas so, I'm going to keep writing... But you could stay with me?" he asked in a shy tone, trying to make puppy dog eyes. "Ugh, fine!".
Though, Jin didn't really mind, running off quickly to retrieve a blanket before taking refuge back on Namjoon's lap. "No, sit like this" Namjoon frowned, moving Jin so that instead of having his back to his chest, he was curled up in a ball. "This isn't as comfortable" Jin whined, shifting a bit making Namjon hiss. "Yes but you look freakin' adorable so shh" he kissed his lips gently, Jin complied then, happily settling his head into the crease by Namjoon's shoulder. Happily, he watched as Namjoon bit his lip, scribbling down word after word, "So much for not being able to write" he mocked - making Namjoon threaten to drop him.
"You're doing really good" Jin yawned, trying not to fall into dreamland. "Just go to sleep idiot" Namjoon chuckled, stroking his fluffy hair. "What am I going to do with you?" Namjoon smiled softly, gazing over his sleeping lump of a boyfriend. "Night night sweetie... Thanks for the inspiration" he kissed his temple, pulling the covers tighter around them before continuing to write, the lyrics just spilling onto the paper now.
A/N - Shorter chapters? I feel like it doesn't drag as much but let me know if this length is good or not 😅
