Brittany's Point Of View

I was putting the frozen lasagna in the oven when Eric opened the door from his and Lynette's area of the house.

"Hey mom we're here," Eric said as he stepped into the kitchen.

"Great," I said as I closed the oven and smiled at him. Frances came up shortly after, followed by Courtney.

"Brittany Lane in the flesh. It's been forever," Courtney said as she walked over to me. Courtney hugged me tightly and I hugged her back.

"It's good to see you too Courtney. Dave should be back soon with the kids," I responded with as we let go of each other.

"I can't believe you two got back together. Is this bump his?" Courtney asked as she put her hand on my belly and he kicked.

"Yep. That's a Grohl in there," I replied.

"Boy or girl? You two make very handsome boys," Courtney said as she turned and looked at Eric. He smiled as he held Frances's hand. I liked seeing them together. They were a cute couple and in a way reminded me of Dave and myself when we first met.

"It's a boy with no name yet. Eric can you go get your sisters please," I said and Eric left.

"Well congratulations. I can't wait to meet Lynette," Courtney said back as Alex came running into the kitchen.

"Mom I passed my math test and have no homework because I finished it in class," he said.

"Good job buddy. I'd like to introduce you to one of my old friends. Alex this is Courtney. Courtney this is my son Alex," I said as Alex turned around to face her.

"Hello I'm Alexander Kurdie Stephen Goldberg," Alex said and held his hand out to Courtney.

"Well aren't you a perfect little gentleman. It's nice to meet you," Courtney responded with as she shook Alex's hand.

"Hey Courtney. Good to see you," Dave said as he came into the kitchen. He walked over to me, put an arm around my shoulders and kissed me before putting the case of beer in his other hand in the fridge.

"Good to see you too Dave," Courtney said.

When Lynette came down and joined us, she was followed by Violet, Harper and Ophelia. Lynette went and kept the kids busy in the living room after Dave introduced all the girls. Courtney commented on how much Eric and Lynette looked like us in our twenties as we sat down at the dining room table with Eric and Frances.

"So how the fuck did this happen? How did you two, of all people, get back together after 20 years," Courtney asked as Dave went to get us drinks.

"Do you remember Abby?" I asked and Courtney nodded. "Well she was dating Taylor when Dave and I were married and then they broke up around the same time Dave and I got divorced. Abby and Taylor ran into each other one day and they got back together. She told Dave where I was and he flew out to Seattle," I replied.

"Dave aren't you married to that woman. Oh what's her name...Jessica, Jamie or something like that," Courtney said as Dave put an ice tea in front of Courtney and myself before giving Frances and Eric there drinks.

"Jordyn and I separated. I went to Taylor's and Abby was there and told me. Then I went to go find my queen who was right where I left her oddly enough," Dave said as he sat down.

"Wait you and Jordyn separated and then what the same day you went and found your ex wife. Who, if I recall correctly, said she never ever wanted to see you again and didn't care if you fucked your way around LA," Courtney said and my eyes went wide.
