Dave's Point Of View

I had looked up everything I could on Hanukkah and even called one of Jordyn's friends to ask questions. I tried bringing it up with Alex and he always seemed to shrug it off. We all tried to get him to at least seem interested in it. I walked into our room and found Brittany wrapping presents.

"Aren't you done yet?" I asked as I sat on the end of the bed. She stretched and her shirt went up and showed her belly.

"Almost. I need to get you out of the house at some point tomorrow. I'm too scattered brain at this point to think of anything though," she responded with as she yawned.

"If you come to bed with me right now, I will leave the house for an hour or two whenever you ask me to. I forgot how great you looked when you were pregnant," I said. She yawned again and then she covered her belly.

"You're only saying that so I'll listen to you. Help me wrap these last two and then we'll go to bed. I've been thinking and maybe we shouldn't do Hanukkah. He's not interested in it and I don't want you to get your hopes up. The only reason we did it in the first place was cause of Jake and if Alex doesn't want to then maybe we shouldn't," she responded back with.

"Maybe you're right. I'll talk about it with him tomorrow again and if I get the same response I'll stop. We'll just celebrate Christmas together," I said and she smiled at me.

I sat down beside her and helped her wrap the last two presents. Afterwards we got into bed and watched a couple of episodes of one of Lynette's favorite tv shows. I constantly asked questions and Britt explained what was going on. This is how our nights went. Watching tv shows and movies that Britt had watched with our kids and that they loved. Lately Britt had gotten in the mood to watch old home movies. I liked those nights the best.

"One more and then lights out?' she asked as she sat up and grabbed the remote.

"How about an old home movie instead?" I asked. Britt turned and looked at me and then back at the tv. I sat up and rubbed her back a bit before she looked at me again.

"Ok. Anything in mind you want to see?" She asked as she got up.

"How about you pick something but just make sure that asshole isn't in it," I replied as she walked to the door.

"Sounds good. Do you want a snack or anything while I'm down there?" She asked. I got out of bed and decided to go with her.

"I'll just come with you," I said as we started down the stairs.

We headed downstairs and into the living room. Britt opened the cabinet she kept the home movies in and looked at them for a minute before picking one out. She walked back over to me with a smile and we headed off to the kitchen. I grabbed spoons and chocolate sauce while she got the ice cream and whipped cream. We headed it back upstairs and as she got into bed, I put the movie in. She held the blanket up for me as I got back into bed.

"So what did you pick?" I asked as she started the movie.

"You'll see," was all she said as the screen showed her sitting on a couch in her place in Seattle.

"Krist stop filming me. I look like a frump," Britt said and covered her face. She was wearing one of my hoodies and sweats.

"Prettiest frump I've ever seen," I said and the camera showed me.

"You're such a dork," Britt said as I sat down beside her on the couch

"That's cause he is one. How the fuck did you end up with a guy like him? Why your parents would be so disappointed in your life choices. Wasting all that money on pot and beer," Krist said in a goofy voice. Britt and I both cracked up laughing and she grabbed my beer from my hand.
