Brittany's Point of View

5 Months Old

Dave went off on tour to promote the new album and Eric joined him for a majority of it. He took Jordyn and their girls for most of the summer dates. I was a little on edge about it but I was trying to trust him. After all they were getting a divorce and he had proposed to me but I still couldn't help but think things. I had gone out once to visit him without Deacon and once with him. I made the Deacon free one when Jordyn was on tour. Yes I was checking in and making sure things were ok which they were. I actually got to know Jordyn and we had a few things in common. We even made plans to get together for dinner one night when Dave came home. Dave was coming home today and I knew he'd want to see the girls so I invited them over for dinner. I cleaned the entire house from top to bottom including all the kids rooms and I made a pot roast for dinner. I was looking for something to wear when Lynette came in with Deacon.

"He is fed, changed, dressed and looking rather adorable and snazzy if I do say so myself," Lynette said.

"He always looks adorable because he's a baby," I said as I kept staring at my clothes.

"Mom what's wrong? You seem distracted," Lynette noted and I turned to look at her.

"Well for once I'm having a girl moment. I want to wear something a little hot for your dad and something that will make Jordyn a little jealous as well. However I need to stay somewhat age appropriate," I replied.

"Here take your son and I will find you something," Lynette said and held Deacon out to me. I took him and made a face at him as she started going through my clothes. I walked out of the closet and put Deacon in the bassinet we kept in the room. He smiled up at me as I made funny faces at him. Lynette walked out with a pair of jeans and a floral tank top.

"I have a pair of shoes that will fit you and you can wear one of your kimonos if you want. Dad would find you attractive in a paper bag so you don't need to wear something hot. I'll go get the shoes," Lynette said and left. I put on the shirt and jeans and then headed downstairs with Deacon. I got to the bottom as the front door opened and Eric came in.

"Boy am I glad to see you mom. Where's Alex?," he said as he gave me a hug.

"I'm happy to see you too. Jordyn is picking him up with the girls because they're coming over for dinner. Where's your father? I asked as he took Deacon from me.

"Oh ok and he's coming. I think he's talking to the driver," Eric replied after giving Deacon a kiss.

"Thanks again Rob," Dave said as he walked inside. Once the door was closed he turned around, came over to me and wrapped me up into a big hug.

"God I missed you," I said once he let go of me.

"I missed you too. There he is. Come see daddy," Dave said and took Deacon from Eric. I then gave Eric a proper hug and kissed him on the cheek.

"Moooom," he whined as he wiped at his cheek.

"Oh I won't be here one day and you'll miss it," I said with a chuckle.

The doorbell rang as Eric and Lynette hugged and I opened it to find Jordyn, Alex and the girls there. They all ran past me to Dave and when I turned around after closing the door, they had him sitting on the floor and Lynette had Deacon. I thanked Jordyn for picking Alex up and she said it wasn't a problem. The kids ran off upstairs with their bags and Dave while Lynette, Deacon, Jordyn and myself headed to the kitchen. Lynette took over taking care of dinner while Jordyn and I sat at the table with Deacon and just talked. Lynette opened a bottle of wine and joined us but I wasn't in the mood to drink so it was just her and Jordyn. They were opening the second bottle when Dave joined us.
